MLB The Show 21, the latest installment of the iconic baseball game series, will release in April. The series was previously exclusive to the PlayStation platform since the first installment was released in 2006 on the PlayStation 2. This time, however, the game will actually be making its way to the Xbox One and Series X/S. But now that the game will be coming to the Xbox, will there be crossplay support?
There’s good news: Fans of the series will be able to face off with all other players, as the game will, in fact, support crossplay. This was confirmed by the announcement tweet by PlayStation, stating that crossplay will be supported from day one of the game’s release.
This has been a long-awaited PlayStation exclusive that baseball fans on the Xbox have been asking for. Now, not only will they be able to finally play the game, but they will also be able to test their skills against players on the PlayStation.
With such a mainstay PlayStation exclusive coming to the Xbox consoles, it leads us to believe that there may be more in store for Xbox fans having access to games that were previously locked for PlayStation gamers. On the other hand, PlayStation gamers might get their hands on some Xbox exclusives themselves. Along with access to exclusives, it seems that the two platforms may be open to more crossplay titles. Either way players on both the Xbox and PlayStation will have to wait until April 20, the game’s release date, to finally go head to head on the diamond.
