What is the fastest car in Fortnite?

What to choose if you need speed.
This article is over 4 years old and may contain outdated information

Now that cars have arrived in the game, people wonder which one of them is the fastest. With four different vehicles to choose from, you will want to make the right choice if you are looking for sheer speed.

Whiplash

Whiplash

The Whiplash is the fastest car in the game, able to easily hit 90 mph on the open road. It is also the only car with a boost function, although this will rapidly burn through your fuel. Where the Whiplash falls down is off-road. If you are not on the road, the speed will drop dramatically, and the handling becomes mediocre at best. Stick to the blacktop to really make this car shine.

Prevalent

Prevalent

The Prevalent is the second fastest car and will hold speed reasonably well when it goes off-road. It can also fit a full Squad inside, which the Whiplash cannot do. It only has the same health as the Whiplash, so be prepared to jump out when that yellow bar gets low enough.

Bear

Bear

The Bear is a pickup truck that holds its speed very well when off-road, so is the best choice is you want to go somewhere far from a street. You can also fit in a full squad, with two people in the back and one in the passenger seat. Not the fastest by any means, but consistent no matter where you are on the map.

Mudflap

Mudflap

The Mudflap is the biggest vehicle, with the most health. It has the slowest acceleration, but once it gets going on the road, it can hit up to 60 mph or more. It is also not going to stop for anyone and will smash through walls that other vehicles just can’t get through. This absolutely dies if you take it off-road, and it won’t climb any hills for you either.
