Helldivers 2 has surprisingly arrived onto the PlayStation Plus catalog, landing alongside a major new update and a crossover with Warhammer 40,000.
One of PS5’s biggest titles, Helldivers 2 players have benefitted from regular updates adding new content, including a previous Halo collab alongside the game’s arrival on XBOX platforms, and now PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium members can download the title for no additional cost.
It’s not just new players benefitting, however, as Arrowhead Games has also launched the latest in a long line of content updates, including a new Legendary Warbond.
The Helldivers 2 x Warhammer 40,000 Legendary Warbond includes two Armor Sets, various new weapons, a host of patterns, Armor Passive abilities, and other customization options. While this will require purchasing, the new update is free for all players.
Helldivers 2’s 7.0.0 update, Devoid of Liberty, takes the battle to the Void, where planets have been altered by “strange mutations that have left a permanent mark.”
The update brings new missions, including infiltrating Illuminate structures and completing data reconnaissance, alongside secondary objectives that include the opportunity to open a secondary extraction zone on the map.
Players will also come face-to-face with new enemies, including The Wretch, which “moves fast and can easily overwhelm weaker fighters,” and The Crusher, described as being “on a relentless death march.”
Super Earth Armed Forces (SEAF) can now appear as a planet modifier, joining you in battle and providing new tools to help, and the level cal has been increased beyond 150, now rising all the way to 300.
Other changes in the patch include expanded Emote slots, upgrades to the GATER, a rework to assisted reload, decrfased the heavy landing duration, and re-balanced the ammo for short magazine attachments and secondaries.
The new update is available now for all players, while the Warhammer 40,000 Warbond requires an additional purchase, although you can earn the game’s premium currency for free through exploration and completing missions.
