Crimson Days is coming to Destiny 2 and will run from February 13th until the next week’s reset. Players will be encouraged to earn Crimson Engrams by participating in a special 2 vs 2 Crucible playlist.
Bungie is continuing its tradition of a Valentine’s Day themed event with the announcement of Crimson Days coming to Destiny 2 next Tuesday, February 13th. The event will run for the entire week until the next reset day and focus on several activities especially designed for couples. Couples in the sense of two players. No love or relationship required. Of course, the week-long event is packed with new rewards, which is why we’re all really here. Let’s see what’s in store for us.
Crimson Days Activities
Players will compete in special events for the duration of Crimson Days and they are introduced in the form of a special 2 vs 2 Crucible playlist.
Dubbed Crimson Doubles, this special Crucible playlist features Clash gameplay rules but is limited to two players per side. You’ll want to grab your best bud, or perhaps just whoever of your friends is the best shot, and go up against other Guardian couples. Show your love by shooting them in the face repeatedly!
A new tweaked version of the Burning Spire map, called The Burnout, presents a future where the Vex have won and adds several gameplay tweaks designed to bring players closer together. Literally. Stay in close proximity to your partner and your abilities recharge at a faster rate. Stray too far, and your enemies will be given a waypoint leading to your location.
Crimson Days Rewards
Bungie appears to have taken some of the harsh lessons of the past few months to heart and have made several changes to how rewards are earned. In stark contrast to The Dawning’s rewards scheme, players will earn Crimson Engrams by competing in the Crimson Doubles playlist, as well as by leveling up their character. Each time you reach a new level, you will gain an Illuminated Engram and a Crimson Engram.
The reward pool will always provide a Crimson item you do not yet own, until you’ve got them all. Only then will you start receiving duplicates. There is no maximum amount of engrams you can earn, so all artificial limitations seem to have been removed.
In addition to the various items available in the Crimson Engram, players can earn the following:
- Earn the Fire of the Cimson Days Emblem and Tirastrella Ghost Shell by completing the “Welcome to Crimson Days” milestone, which is five Crimson Days matches
- Earn the Undeterred Exotic Sparrow from the Crimson Doubles Crucible playlist
- Earn the Dieselpunk exotic ornament for Wardcliff Coil by completing the Leviathan Raid or the Raid Lair
- Earn the Flaunting Dance emote by completing the nightfall
