With the recent reveal at the State of Play broadcast, Final Fantasy VII Remake has sure enough returned a trending topic on the internet.

Fans have been debating about the quality of the game, the idea of releasing it in multiple episodes, and of course the design of the characters.

In particular, the design of certain characters has spread a bit of concern among a part of the community, which thinks Square Enix has done something wrong in comparison with both the original game and the rest of the cast in the remake.

First, while Cloud is overall thought to be good enough, Japanese supporters do believe that Aerith’s face is too long and have tried and offered Square what they think should be her proper design.

Our humble opinion is Square Enix’s design is just fine – Aerith’s look is breathtaking – but you can check the redesigned version from fans in the video below.

On top of that, we also learn about concerns that Barret might have been whitewashed for some reason. Fans believe that the original version’s skin was way more black and that Square might have changed it a bit to appeal more western audiences.

You can also check the complaint about this below. Let us know in the comments below what you think about these concerns, and remember that Final Fantasy VII Remake is set to be fully revealed at E3 2019 in June.
