In Light of Alfhiem Walkthrough of God of War (PS4), you will travel to Alfhiem, Defeat Dark Elves and get the Light of Alfhiem to Destroy the Black Breath.
In Chapter 3 A Realm Beyond the witch will show you to the way to access different realms of which the first one you will unlock is Realm of Alfhiem. In Chapter 4 The Light of Alfhiem Walkthrough, you will have to find the light to destroy the Black Breath.
The Light of Alfhiem Walkthrough
Find a way to the Light
After crossing the door the new area is Tyr’s Bridge. Follow the boy and attack the root with an axe to open up the blocked path. Keep moving ahead till you reach a symbol on the right rock wall. Fight with Dark Elve’s, after killing them all once again destroy the root blocking your path. On your right there is a chest, it will offer you a cipher piece. Continuing to the path on the left side, follow the boy. There is a boat stuck in the roots on your right free it. If you want upgrades then you can visit Sindri on your right.
Get to the ringed temple
To free the boat go on the right and target the roots. After pushing the boat in the water take it towards the temple. You will see a tree trunk with glowing light, go near it so that the boy can grab it. It is a Yggdrasil’s Dew Of Cooldown that will permanently increase cool-down by 2. Keep following the marker on the compass, and you will reach a new area Lake of Light.
Find a way into the temple
Once reach the lake ahead near the flag you can dock the boat, there is a sand bowl, but first, you have to activate the rune. So take the boat and go towards the light. You will cross the two curve arc shape pillars, once you reach and dock your boat, you will see the bridge is blocked. Next Black Elf will attack fight them and on the extreme left and right there are two rings, rotate them to completely reveal the submerged arc pillars. Go back to the sand bowl, as the boy interact a new path opens up a new region Ringed Temple Trench, but this time there are more powerful Black Elf’s in your path.
Reactivate the Ringed Temple bridge
After killing them, go to the extreme right, you will find a sand bowl, rotate the wheel, and the cages will open up. The first cage on your right has an Elf, kill him and look on the left side, hit the root and come out. Recall your ax, and it will break the door. Go inside there is a chest that will give you Thazi’s Talon which is a Heavy Ruin Attack. A propulsive attack that releases a small vertical wave that will cause medium Frost damage on the enemy. For continuing towards your main objective, look on the right end, there is a wheel, rotate it and it will move the bridge platform up and down. Follow the boy, and you will find a side hallway. Once you cross the tunnel, go right, take the first one with a glowing root in it, there is a wall to climb. As the boy goes up there will be a lot of Dark Elf warrior’s attack.
Fight with them, and then push a huge column towards the one who took the boy. Continue fighting, more will spawn to block your path. After chopping off the head of final Elf, walk towards the left of the large key hole, there is a door. Open up another door inside that will lead you to a bridge, jump down and destroy the root on your left. It will activate the bridge, walk further and climb up from the left side. More Elf will spawn to butcher you. Once you are done crushing their heads, a Stone Ancient will pop up.
The powerful Leviathan axe has no impact on it unless you attack the glowing part of his chest. The rock bot will open it up and attack you, use the shield to block the beam of light and throw axe before it closes up. The boy is useless here, go near to the dumb bot and you will have a chance to stun him, that’s it time you will be using R1 r R2 to tear him apart. That dumb looking bot will drop some valuable items, like Fragmented Heart of Alfhiem, a rare enhancement that will reduce the damage from Dark Elves to 12%. On the left corner, there’s a chest, open it up for a Light Runic Attack – Njord’s Tempest. On your front there is a root with glowing red light, attack it. It will restore the bridge.
Enter The Temple
Follow the boy, and then rotate the liver to go up. Your next objective is to enter the temple. As you cross the bridge of light, a new area Ringed Temple will be revealed. Interact with the door, you have to locate another way to get in.
Find another way into the temple
On the right side of the door, you will spot the trader Sindri, you can visit the shop for upgrades. On the right of the shop, there’s a shrine. On the left side of the shop there is a small hole in the wall, pass through it, and you will be inside the temple. After fighting with few Elves, target the roots on the top of two pillars, attack them twice to break. Ahead there will be Nightmares and a few Elves. Keep following the boy, till you reach the wall, you have to hang towards the right, and you will reach in Ringed Temple Interior.
Find a way into the hive
Go towards the hive, there you have to fight with Elf’s who just killed a glowing Elf. On the left of the hive, you will spot a red root, attack it with the axe to open a bridge. Cross the bridge, and go left, kill Nightmares and some Elves, there is a second root you have to break. Once again the new light bridge will appear, cross it and go left.
Break into the Hive
Break the roots outside the hive entrance, somehow when you attack, the will restore back, but a few of them will not. So one by one you have to find the right one and destroy it. This will open up a passage into the hive. Keep walking and climb up, and keep moving till you see the marker. In between Elf’s will attack you. You will be a new region Light of Alfheim.
Destroy the hive and claim the light
To destroy the hive, go left and attack the root, next an army of Elf’s will charge towards you. Fight with them the path. You will reach the second root, destroy it with the axe. After falling down near the light, Kratos will push his arms inside, you have to press the controller key for pushing in. Follow the pocket, it will lead you to Thor’s statue. There is a cave on the left with some dying fishes, climb up and in an instance, Kratos will be in his old home. Exit and cross the bridge.
Find a way out of the temple
After charging up the arrow, shoot the crystal for activating the bridge. Cross it and go left, pick up the crystal and place it on the glowing platform between two pillars. Climb up and go on the bridge, on your left you will find a chest that will offer you Fragmented Heart of Alheim, a rare enhancement that will reduce damage from Dark Elves by 12%. Once again, take the crystal, and go to the end and place the crystal. It will activate the bridge cross that, and kill a few nightmares. Follow the bow, he will activate another bridge, but there will be a few Dark Elves. Kill them and the boy will activate another bridge. Go over it and then shoot the roots on top which will reveal the final crystal. Go up, a few more Elves will spawn cross the bridge, on the right top, there is a chest that will give you a Light Runic Attack – Strike of the Utgard.
Look at the top of the blocked path, there is a crystal. Hit with the axe, and then place it in the center. It will give you a Lore. Carry the crystal and follow the boy. Place it in the right corner where the boy stands. It will let the boy reach the sand bowl on top. Open the door and you are out of the temple. Before returning to the boat you can talk to Sindri and get a Favor, that will reward you a Rare Talisman and 3290 XP. Or else head to the boat for your next main mission.
Rare Talisman info: After killing a boss Dark Elve you will get a Wrath of the Wolf Runic Summon, attached to the boy’s bow when he shoots an arrow, it will summon a wolf that will pounce on enemies 3 times.
Return to Midgard
If you skip playing this then return to the boat. You have to go all the way back where you found the boat for the first time, and Sindri’s shop is near it. Once leave the boat you will be on foot towards Midgard. Just follow the boy, you will reach a room that has a tree of life. Rotate the wheel, that will take you to the Midgard. Exit through the door that glows in pink. Meet Brok, he will offer you a Favor – Second Hand Soul. If you play this you will get an Alchemist Ring and Fire Sigil of Protection Rare Enhancement after killing a Soul Eater.
Return to the mountain
To continue to the main story, you will have to pass through the tower. Follow the marker on the compass, to return to the mountain. It will be a long way back, you have to go to the mountain where your path was blocked by Black Breath. Using the light Kratos can now move ahead. Keep walking using the light.
