The Dark Pictures Anthology: Little Hope is full of secrets for you to uncover. Some are tied to achievements and trophies, and one of these unlockables relates to family secrets that you can discover.
There are 25 family secrets, and finding them all will net you the ‘Secrets Too Dark’ achievement or trophy. Read on to find their locations — in chronological order — if you are struggling to find any.
Newspaper: Town Closes
This can be found in the Black Cat Bar. After chatting to Vince, turn around and head towards the exit. The paper is on a table to your right.
Poppet Doll
After you exit the bar:
- Walk down the road.
- Keep your phone’s flashlight trained on the left side of the road. You will spot a circle of stones that resemble a fireplace.
- Walk over to it to find the poppet.
Magick and Ritual Book
This is an easily missed secret. You will find an abandoned shack that John and Andrew will go to explore. John gets spooked by something inside and runs off. As Andrew, complete the quick time event (QTE) to stay calm and find out what spooked John. If you fail it, Andrew will runoff, and you will miss the collectible. Navigate the QTE successfully, though, and you can enter. The book can be seen on a table to your left.
Protest Signs
After Daniel and Taylor drop down a ledge and discover an abandoned building. Walk towards the building but, before trying to enter, hang right. You will see the discarded signs there.
Protest Posters
In the same area as the signs. Head to the front door of the building but, before you try to go inside, look to the wall on your left to examine the posters.
Number One Dad keychain
Once you are inside the building, make your way to the ground floor. Navigate the QTE and shelves to reach the register counter. Walk-behind this and look for something to examine on the shelf behind it.
Marks on the Walls
Inside the police station. Walk out of the room you are in and head left. Turn left again to head into the locker room. Walk towards the double doors at the far end and go through the doorway on your right to enter the jail cell area. Walk to the furthest cell and move the wooden plank to reveal a message.
Commendation
Head out of the cells and back to the main room. Walk forwards and take a right when you see the ‘Gaol’ sign on the pillar in front of you. Walk into the room in front of you, and the commendation will be hanging on the wall.
Band Poster
After you leave the police station. Stick to the left side of the road and point your flashlight at the telegraph pole. Walk towards it, and you will see the poster.
Sun Charm
Another missable secret. In the graveyard, stick to the left-hand path. Follow it past the first exit signpost until you reach a fork in the road. Go left and walk into the family plot section. Turn left again and walk until you see a bench to your left. The charm is on the floor.
Tanya Clark’s Grave
From this bench, turn around and look for a row of graves on the right. Walk to the middle one and move the flowers out of the way to find it.
Team Photo
Inside the abandoned factory. After Abraham and Judge Wyman’s meeting, turn around to find the photograph on the wall.
Memorial Plaque
From the photograph, take a few steps forward. Notice the crooked plaque on the wall on your right. Straighten it to find this secret.
Disciplinary Letter
Head into the room on your right from the plaque. Look for a set of desk drawers you can open. The letter is in the first drawer.
Family Photo
Turn around from this desk and look at the one behind you. Examine the cardboard box on top to locate this image.
Newspaper: Factor Closes
Walk down the stairs to the ground floor. Head into the room on your right. The paper is sitting on a wooden desk.
Vince Photo
Head out of this room and passed the stairs. Take a left once you have passed them. Walk to the lockers and examine the right-hand one to find the picture.
Newspaper: Cause of Fire
Found in some rubble as you progress through the building. Follow the path from the lockers, and you will see two right turns you can make. Take the first one to find the paper at a dead end.
Old Car
You can’t miss this one. After walking under a brick structure — and a potential cutscene playing out — you will see the car in front of you. Interact with it to get this secret.
Newspaper Clipping
Head to the trunk of the car and pop it. The clipping is found inside.
Wedding Photo
After you enter the burned down house. Follow the path that you are facing. Walk to the second room and, in the doorway, look down to your right. It’s on the floor.
Charred Book
From the photograph, head to the far end of the room. The book is lying on the floor. Pick it up and turn the page to the right to find this secret.
Child’s Drawing
Follow the path back around. Walk towards the front door and look left. There is a wall there that looks blank. Interact with it to get the secret.
Grandfather Clock
Head through the doorway on your left from this wall. Immediately turn right to see the grandfather clock.
Crude Doll
The final secret will only appear under two conditions. First, you have to find the other 49 secrets. These include the 24 family secrets above and the 25 witchcraft secrets you can find using this guide. The second condition is that you need to get the good ending. That means keeping everyone alive until the game’s end, as well as convincing Vince that you’re not a bad guy during your playthrough.
If you are successful, Vince will find you on the road in the morning. After this interaction — we won’t spoil it for you — watch the final cutscene play out. The Crude Doll will appear in the second-to-last scene if you met the above criteria.
