After your first visit to the Royal Capital, you’ll have to make your way to the northern part of the continent. This requires journeying through a foggy area called the Forbidden Lands, before riding the Grand Lift of Rold up to the Mountaintops of the Giants. Even in this icy area, there are a bunch of bosses to beat. See a full alphabetical list of them below.

Black Blade Kindred
This boss will ambush you just before you reach the Grand Lift of Rold, at the spot marked above.
Night’s Cavalry
The penultimate Night’s Cavalry boss is also found along the same path, but like its brethren, it only appears at night.
Stray Mimic Tear
Before you can fight this boss, you need to know how to reach the Consecrated Snowfield — here’s the path. The Stray Mimic Tear appears inside the Hidden Path to the Haligtree as a dungeon boss. To find the path, go to the balcony in the screenshot above; it’s just downstairs from the Land Octopus enemy. Drop off by the broken railing to land on an invisible staircase that will lead you to the catacombs that house the boss.
All boss locations in Mountaintops of the Giants
Ancient Hero of Zamor
This is the dungeon boss of the Giant-Conquering Hero’s Grave. The entrance, marked above, is on a high cliff near the lift. To get there, you’ll have to travel around the whole mountaintop clockwise, until you can take a running jump with Torrent to reach the isolated cliff.
Borealis the Freezing Fog
Borealis is one of several dragons in the game, and the only one to have ice attacks. When you go the spot above, a fog will roll in and he’ll appear from within it to fight you. Here’s a boss guide for the encounter.
Commander Niall
Commander Niall is the boss of Castle Sol, a dungeon found in the northern part of the mountaintops. He’s a pretty difficult one to beat, so see our guide for the strategy.
Death Rite Bird
This bird will swoop in and attack you in the area southwest of Castle Sol. While most Death Rite Bird encounters only happen at night, this one can actually happen at any time.
Erdtree Avatar
As always, this Avatar guards the Minor Erdtree in the region. It’s up on a cliff in the center of the zone.
Fire Giant
You can’t miss this one: it’s enormous, and it’s a story boss. It’s found in the southeastern pocket of the mountaintops. Fire Giant is one of the hardest bosses in the game, so see our boss guide for some pointers.
Godskin Apostle, Godskin Noble, & Spiritcaller Snail
This trio of bosses appears inside the Spiritcaller Cave, a dungeon near the big frozen lake. The Godskin enemies are summoned by the snail, so once you take them out, you can start damaging their summoner.
Tibia Mariner
This is the final Tibia Mariner encounter in the game. It appears on a little cliff overlooking Castle Sol, pictured above.
Ulcerated Tree Spirit
The Giants’ Mountaintop Catacombs is a dungeon found near the Grand Lift of Rold upon first entering this region. The entrance is marked above, and you’ll find this boss at the end.
Vyke, Knight of the Roundtable
There is one Evergaol in this region, found on a hill near the frozen lake. Enter it to face this boss.
