Multiplayer Tours in Star Wars: Galactic Racer are a great way to test what you’ve learned in single-player against a more competitive environment. When you dip your toes into a Multiplayer Tour, you’ll play against other Racers who may have explored weird builds or hyper-optimized setups, so there are no holds barred. This means you should also bring your A-Game, since it’s your online racer rep in the Galaxy Far, Far Away at stake.
Unlike the regular single-player campaign, Multiplayer Tours are shorter and much faster. The game applies its roguelike formula to all racers, giving you somewhat of a “fair” playing field. Luck is half the picture, as you need to make do with the cards given to you. You claim the championship when you finish first in the final Race, but it’s going to be a tough ride to the finish line.
Select your Multiplayer Mode

Galactic Racer doesn’t just have the “one” Multiplayer Mode. Aside from Quick Races, the game also provides two variants of competitive multiplayer racing:
- Multiplayer Tour: This is the standard Multiplayer Mode that resembles single-player the most. You choose your type of vehicle and its design, equip a Racer Style, and run through the motions. There are 12 racers competing for the title of Galactic League Champion
- Podracing Tour: This is the other type of Multiplayer Mode where a total of 8 players compete in Podracers. You choose among 6 characters to determine your Racer Style
The rest of the rules below apply to both these variants, and only their differentiating factors set them apart.
Choose your Racer Style

Unlike the Campaign, your Multiplayer Tour begins by choosing a character. Shade is just one of the options, as you can unlock more of them as you increase your Multiplayer Rank. Each character represents a specific Racer Style, so your choice of character also determines your overall playstyle for this current Tour.
It’s best that you play Multiplayer Tours regularly so you can unlock more Racer Styles. That way, you can “test” your builds in single-player against real racers.
Choose your Backer Contract

When you start your Multiplayer Tour in Galactic Racer, you get to choose your Backer right away. As with the single-player Galactic Tour, just fulfill your Backer Contract terms and you’ll get extra Credits to spend. In Multiplayer Tours where your build almost always determines your endgame strength, any extra Credits count. Backers are inherently different, but they’re usually favoring specific playstyles:
- The Hutt: This loves first-placers. Anything that can make you get 1st Place as fast as possible, so missions include overtakes or maintaining 1st Place
- The Broker: This loves aggressive racers. Anything that implies the start of an offensive kit, so missions include colliding with opponents, using Abilities, and maintaining ridiculously high speeds
- The Pirate: This loves the underdog. Anything that gives you a disadvantage that you’ll eventually conquer, so missions often involve doing complex moves or spending some time in last place
Finish Races to recalibrate your Backer Contract
After a couple of races, you get to renew your Backer Contract. This time around, you can choose a more “specific” mission to do for the rest of the Multiplayer Tour.
Betting Select happens before every Race

Before you start your 1st Race, you get to the Betting Select screen. This is the equivalent of Sidebets in the single-player Galactic Tour. This time around, you see all 12 competitors at once with a slider. You place the slider where you think you would end up, whether it’s the lower, middle, or top bracket.
If you correctly predict your position, then you get a post-race bonus reward. This is usually in the form of a rare Part. Ideally you’d want to finish in the Top 3, so you automatically get a Legendary Part. But again, you’re also free to be strategic with how you want to incorporate betting into your vehicle economy.
Get Rewards and Hibi’s Shop after every Race

Like its single-player counterpart, every Race gives you a set number of Credits to finish as well as rewards in the form of an Upgrade and/or a free Part. After that, you can upgrade your ride further in Hibi’s Shop.
You usually only have access to Hibi’s Shop when you arrive at a new planet in the Galactic Tour. But this time you get to her shop after every Race. This is part of where the roguelike intensity happens, as you only get roughly 90 seconds between the Results screen and the next Betting Select to actually fix your build. Like with the main game, you can:
- Buy new Parts: Hibi’s Shop has a collection of Parts you can purchase
- Upgrade Pack: You can buy an Upgrade Pack to get a random selection of stat boosts
- Ability Pack: You can choose one Ability from a set
1st to 5th Races are all Standard Races

Unlike the regular single-player Galactic Tour, there are no complicated Tour Events in Multiplayer Tours. Instead, all of them are Standard Races – which means you just have to race to the finish, ideally within the place you put a bet on.
There are no Wrecked Outs here as there are no League Entry Tokens. But if you get booted out of a Race, you skip it and wait for the next Race – which can greatly affect the Credits you can spend.
6th Race decides the Galactic Champion

While the game does keep track of who won each Tour Event, the real dealbreaker is the actual Galactic Gauntlet, or the 6th Race. Think of the first five Races as your “build” phase and this sixth one as “the real deal.” You get one final batch of gathering Rewards and upgrading your ride at Hibi’s Shop, after that it’s off to the Galactic Gauntlet.
Well, not yet. Before the final Race, you also perform your Final Bet. This time, based on the tally of scores, you get to vote on who you think can become the Final Champion. You can bet on another good-performing player, or you can vote for yourself (because why not). Winning your Final Bet grants you extra Multiplayer Rank XP.
