Game modes in Star Wars: Galactic Racer go beyond just racing through the Galactic League in the hopes of settling Shade’s grudge against Kestar Bool. If you’re finding it a bit hard to improve your progress (ahem, Act 3), maybe you just need a breather and explore Galactic Racer from a new angle instead. Interestingly enough, the game does have a plethora of other modes you can explore. If single-player is proving to be a bit boring for your liking, you can always check out the game’s extra challenges or its rather deep multiplayer.
Campaign

| Championship Race | 1-on-1 race against Kestar Bool | 25 Tuning Points, title of Galactic League Champion |
This is the standard-fare single-player mode in Galactic Racer where most players end up. You’re probably looking for new experiences precisely because of how many times you already repeated this mode For a quick recap, Campaign is where you want to go if you want the standard Galactic Tour experience.
In this mode, you are presented with random paths of Tour Events across a cluster of planets. Depending on which Act you are in, you will have:
- Act 1: 13 events across 4 planets
- Act 2: 18 events across 5 planets
- Act 3: 27 events across 6 planets
When you defeat Kestar Bool in Act 3, you unlock the Galactic Racer endgame options.
Single-player Modes

| MODE | HOW IT WORKS | REWARDS |
|---|---|---|
| Scenarios | 13 Scenarios, each revolving around a rival and a specific build. Each features four Races and one final Eliminator challenge | 10 Tuning Points, 100 Kit Points per Scenario |
| Arcade | Complete Time Trials to earn the Gold Medal. There are 50 or so Time Trials available, each with different modifiers and builds | None |
If you’re not feeling the campaign vibes, you can always enjoy your Galactic Racer gameplay with its single-player modes. Unlike Galactic Tours, these have no effect on your overall campaign progress and serve as more of challenges to help you get used to the game’s controls and gameplay intricacies.
Scenarios
When you slowly unlock Racer Styles in your Galactic Racer campaign, you also unlock that racer’s respective Scenario. These are all compiled in Scenarios, which act like mini-Tours where you take on the POV of the racer in question. Each Scenario gives you a Racer Style with a pre-set build, and it has four Races and a culminating Eliminator challenge. Each Scenario gives you Kit Points and 10 Tuning Points, which makes it a neat way of upgrading your vehicle quickly.
Arcade
Unlike Scenarios, the regular Arcade Mode is more akin to the Time Trial Tour Event. In each Arcade Mode challenge, you get a Galactic Racer vehicle with a preset build. The goal is to finish the trial the fastest earn the Gold Medal. Over time, you see your friends’ times as well – which are obviously there because you need to beat them and show them who’s the boss.
Quick Multiplayer Race Modes

| Mode | HOW IT WORKS | REWARDS |
|---|---|---|
| Quick Race | 12 players compete in an individual Race. No upgrades, just the Racer Style | Multiplayer Rank XP |
| Quick Podrace | 8 players compete in an individual Race with Podracers. No upgrades, just the Racer Style | Multiplayer Rank XP |
If you don’t want to get into intense Tours right away, you can always have a quick rousing round of Multiplayer Race modes. Compared to Scenarios and Arcade single-player modes, playing these will just drop you into a Race Event straight away. There are no upgrades for you to experiment with. Instead, you play with the Racer Style you selected.
These quick Races are perfect if you got rusty and want to get reacquainted with the controls, or if you want to get “into the zone” without risking any League Entry Tokens. No upgrades means you’ll use only your instincts, which can help you master more complicated controls like turning.
Multiplayer Tour Modes

| MODE | HOW IT WORKS | REWARDS |
|---|---|---|
| Multiplayer Tour | 12 players complete a Tour with 6 Races. Each Race starts by choosing a Backer, buying Parts, Abilities, and Upgrades, then Sidebetting on a placement in the current Race. The final champion is determined by the last Race | Multiplayer Rank XP |
| Podracing Tour | Exactly like Multiplayer Tour but with Podracers, and there are only 8 players | Multiplayer Rank XP |
If you want to show off your racing finesse to your friends or strangers all over the internet, this is where the Multiplayer Tour modes come in. These are fast and loose versions of Galactic Tours that fit a more competitive environment. Compared to the single-player experience, you’re racing against real players, so they’re just as excited to dish out weird and overpowered builds against you.
As with Multiplayer Race modes, completing Multiplayer Tours will give you Multiplayer Rank XP. Earn enough XP to level up your Multiplayer Rank, which can unlock a new Multiplayer Racer
Multiplayer Tour

A Multiplayer Tour has most of the bells and whistles of a single-player Galactic Tour, where you get your vehicle through various Races and improve it with new Parts, Upgrades, and Abilities. It’s much shorter than a traditional Galactic Tour, and it doesn’t have any active stakes towards the campaign. Its gameplay loop is as follows:
- 12 Players are participants
- The chosen Multiplayer Racer gives access to their Racer Style
- Players begin by choosing a Backer and Sidebetting on their placement in the 1st Race
- Get Credits after every race, which can be used to purchase Parts, Abilities, and Upgrades
- Fulfilling Backer requirements gets more Credits
- Finishing based on the Sidebet gets more Credits
- Choose a new Backer and Sidebet between the 2nd Race and 6th Race
- The 6th Race determines the final placements
Podracing Tour

A Podracing Tour is exactly like the Multiplayer Tour, only this time you use and upgrade Podracers. This is as close as we could get to an authentic podracing-heavy Tour. The main differences between a Podracing Tour and a standard multiplayer one are:
- 8 Players are participants
- Players only use Podracers
