How to complete Foster Family in Dying Light 2 Stay Human

Where to find the lost boy.
This article is over 2 years old and may contain outdated information

After you complete the A Place to Call Home quest in Dying Light 2, a new quest giver named Hugh will appear on a rooftop in the Wharf district, just southwest of the PK Floating Fortress ship. Speak to Hugh to start the Foster Family side quest, the objective of which is to find the lost boy. Follow the map marker southeast into the Muddy Grounds district to the Wharf Water Tower.

Go to the south side of the Water Tower and climb onto the small square building, from here, jump to the ledge above the gate. Turn right and hop between the small platforms to the east, then turn left and climb over the wall. Go inside the single-storey building and kill (or else sneak by) the Infected.

Continue into the tower, and drop down the gap on the northwest side. Look down and you’ll see a UV light, which is where the boy, Match, is sitting. Some players are reporting a bug whereby Match is not there if you’ve already activated the Water Tower, but we activated the Water Tower first, and he was still there. Drop from platform to platform to reach him. Talk to Match and he’ll tell you that Hugh is not his father, and had been forcing him to work.

Climb back up using the ledges on the pipes, the platforms, and the ladder, then leave the Water Tower and follow the map marker back to Hugh. When you speak to him, he’ll reveal that he mentors orphans, teaching them to spy and steal. That’s not a particularly satisfying end to the quest, but it earns you some Combat and Parkour XP.
