During the Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War campaign, you’ll be going through an electrifying story. It’ll pit you against Perseus as you try to figure out their plans. During Fracture Jaw, the third campaign mission, you’ll have to defend Firebase Ripcord, and if you destroy all of the enemy vehicles and mortar teams, you’ll receive an achievement. Here’s the best way to do it.

You’ll have to do this while you’re in the helicopter. You can casually fly the helicopter for a little bit, but when you’re told about the vehicles on the road, focus fire on them. You want to switch between using your minigun and rockets. Try to use your rockets first, so while that’s reloading, you can switch to your minigun. After that, you’ll see ally helicopters in the air and several lit-up positions where the enemies are. Take those out, plus the ones at the base of the mountain. These aren’t marked as objectives, but there are enemy vehicles there anyway.

The mortar teams are the hardest to find during the mission while defending the base. To find them, look for the white trails of smoke that their mortar fires leave behind. These locations are likely not marked, which is the hardest part. Do a quick sweep of the mountain leading up to Firebase Ripcord. It pays to ignore the primary mission to focus on those positions to ensure you get them all. There will be a distinct explosion after firing on those positions.

Before you land at Firebase Ripcord, the achievement for completing Scorched Earth should appear, so make sure you see it. You can always start the mission over to try again.
