The Callback Campaign in Final Fantasy XIV lets you invite friends back who may have taken a break from the game. As long as your friend meets the requirements for the campaign, you both qualify for unique rewards. The event runs from Wednesday, December 23, 2020, at 12 AM PT to Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at 12 AM PT, so make sure to get those invitations out.
Inviting your friends to return
Open your friend list, right-click on a friend who is offline, and select Invite Friend to Return. If they meet the requirements, they’ll receive an email inviting them back to the game. Your friend will need to have been inactive for at least 90 days, not including any free trial time. If your friend is only a free trial player, they won’t qualify for the Callback Campaign.
You can invite up to five friends back at once. When your friends receive their invitation email, it will have your character name and server as the one who invited them. If your friend is especially popular and receives multiple invitations from different friends, you’ll all be listed in a single invitation email.
Rewards for inviting friends back
When your friends come back by purchasing a subscription within 90 days of returning online, you’ll get your own in-game rewards. You’ll receive 5 gold Chocobo feathers per returning friend. Trade these feathers to the Calamity Salvager NPCs in the starting cities for your rewards.
You’ll need 15 feathers for the Twintania mount, meaning you’ll have to get three friends to come back. Other mount rewards require inviting at least two friends. You can also purchase Rare Dyes or Aetheryte Tickets for a single Chocobo feather each. Head to the Mog Station to confirm how many friends you successfully invited to return for rewards.
Rewards for returning players
Anyone who accepts an invitation gets their own rewards. Clicking on the link in your email to Redeem Your Gift will take you to the Mog Station. You’ll then get your rewards added to your service account, which includes seven days of free play time, 99 Aetheryte Tickets, and 10 silver Chocobo feathers.
You can exchange your Chocobo feathers for special weapons or equipment depending on your level. Take your feathers to the Calamity Salvager NPCs in town, at either the Upper Decks in Limsa Lominsa (X: 11.3, Y: 14.3), Old Gridania (X: 10.0, Y: 8.4), or Ul’dah, Steps of Thal (X: 12.6, Y: 13.1).
