Where to find the lost cats in Final Fantasy VII Remake – Lost Friends quest

Here's how to find all of Betty's cats for rewards.

One of the earlier side quests, Lost Friends, tasks you with finding some friends for Betty, one of the small girls throughout the sector, as they have become lost in the Sector 7 Slums. Sound easy, right? Well, not quite, as the friends that Betty is talking about are actually three of her cat friends. She explains that they are all skinny and white and that they like the food areas, but doesn’t know where they are, and it’s up to you to find them.

The reason this might not be the quickest or easiest to finish is that they are small and fairly easy to miss. However, they can be found in the following locations if you take your pace slowly.

First Cat

The first one is here on the map, close to your sleeping quarters:

There will be a resident with a quest marker above her head and will say that in the area through the tunnel, a large group of cats has assembled. Naturally, you can go down this tunnel and check this out. There are several cats here, but the one you are looking for is white, and this should be the only one here that you can pick. Interacting with it will cause it to run away. Don’t worry too much about this.

Second cat

The second cat is located outside Tifa’s bar, Seventh Heaven.

Approaching the bar, the white furball should be perched to the right of the doors to the bar. In a similar fashion, Cloud can interact with it, but will promptly run away from him. He is big and scary after all.

Third cat

The final cat is located close to the entrance of the Sector 7 Slums.

If you go straight towards the train station from Seventh Heaven, taking it slowly, you will begin to hear a meowing sound as you get closer to the entrance. On the left-hand side, you will see the final feline sitting across from a bar. Once again, it will shun Cloud and run away, to which he will sigh and give up on finding the cats.

The game should then prompt you to travel straight to Betty, where you can give her the bad news. Thankfully, the cats all then appear in front of Betty, causing you to complete the quest.

For this, you will have your HP and MP fully restored, and you’ll also be rewarded with a Maiden’s Kiss, which will cure any instances of turning into a toad, something which will come in very handy as you progress further into the game.
