Dr. Mario World, the upcoming mobile game from Nintendo, will only be releasing on specific platforms in certain countries.

Dr. Mario World is an upcoming mobile game that will be releasing worldwide on Android and iOS on July 10. Interestingly, it will only be available on specific platforms in some countries. Dr. Mario World will be a free-to-play, match-three puzzle solving game, and we can assume it will have micro-transactions because the game is not scheduled to release at all in Belgium.

Recent changes to the law about in-app purchases in Belgium seem to have made Nintendo not want to operate their mobile games in the market, like Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp and Fire Emblem Heroes have both been shut down in the region.

Now, why Dr. Mario World will only be available on one platform in some regions is anybody’s guess. Nintendo has provided a full list of launch countries, with the platform it will be launching on in that region. They have also advised that there is a chance that the list will change in the run-up to launch.

  • Anguilla [iOS Only]
  • Antigua and Barbuda
  • Aruba [Android Only]

  • Taiwan
  • Thailand
  • Trinidad and Tobago
  • Turks and Caicos Islands [iOS Only]
  • United Kingdom

  • Virgin Islands (British) [iOS Only]

While most countries seem to be fine, some are Android only, and a handful that are iOS only. Once again, I have no idea why they would be restricted to a single platform in some regions, but hopefully, you will not be affected by this if you do want to play the game.
