Electronic Arts has shared more details about the performances of EA Access and Origin Access, its subscription-based services for Xbox One and PC.
The company announced a few hours ago that the platform will be coming to PlayStation 4, finally, this July.
So, the numbers we’re going to talk about are most likely going to improve a lot next time we’ll hear them coming from EA.
Currently, EA and Origin Access have over 3.5 million subscribers, which is a huge number if you consider that they’re covering just two platforms.
And, most importantly, among those platforms they don’t have Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 as of now, which are the best selling this gen.
Electronic Arts wants to improve for what matters the quantity of games available and the technology/tools used for the service.
On top of that, the publisher is also looking “into streaming + subscription combo for the future,” as shared by analyst Daniel Ahmad.
So, interestingly, EA will be joining the party when it comes to streaming, a party which is set to be very crowded as Sony, Microsoft, and Google will all be offering something in that range later this year.
At the moment being, it’ll be interesting to see how players react to EA Access coming to PS4, and then this is probably going to determine future efforts from the company. Are you subscribing this July?
