The news doesn’t come unexpectedly since the title has only been revealed back at E3 2018 in June with a quick teaser trailer providing a demonstration of the engine it’s based on.
“I’d love to start getting more info out there, and we’re talking internally about what/when/where/how, but nothing currently planned for X018,” Jerrard told his followers on Twitter.
Created with the studio’s new Slipspace Engine, Halo Infinite debuted at the Xbox E3 2018 Briefing with a thrilling engine demo that provides a glimpse into the future of the Halo franchise that leads it into “new and unexpected directions.”
We don’t have much information about the game and the story, but we do know it’s not a prequel nor a spin-off of sorts despite not featuring a number in its title. It’s a sequel to Halo 5: Guardians, so there’s more to be added onto the main story here.
Halo Infinite is coming to Xbox One and Windows 10 at an unspecified release date.
