According to the same Reddit user who discussed Fallout 76 ahead of its announcement, there are a few games to be revealed at Microsoft’s E3 media briefing, among which there’s even a Sunset Overdrive 2. Interestingly, the game got mentioned together with others we already know are in the making at several Microsoft first party studios, such as “new Gears, Forza Horizon 4, Halo.”
With E3 2018 just around the corner, it was crystal clear that rumors and supposed leaks would be coming as they do each year. And Microsoft is one of the hottest topics around since Windows 10 and Xbox One are desperately in need of good exclusives.
So here’s a new rumor.
It’s worth noting that Sunset Overdrive’s IP is in the hands on Insomniac Games and this means that a sequel has to be developed by Insomniac Games itself, none other. And the studio has now a partnership in place with Sony for Spider-Man and that franchise.
Patrick Klepek, senior reporter at Waypoint, has shared his opinion on Twitter about this topic and said he’s quite sure that Sunset Overdrive 2 is not in development at the moment.
“Sunset Overdrive 2 isn’t happening right now. I poke around about this game all the time; it’s one of my generational favorites, and desperately asked for a sequel. It’s not in development,” he says.

So, will we learn more about that at E3 2018? Who knows. It looks unlikely but with video games you never say never…
