Crafting in The Forge is all about the proper ratio of ores and maximizing both the base stats and the passive buffs you can get on your gear. In the guide below, we will explain how to make the best equipment in The Forge Roblox experience, best ores for each weapon and armor piece, total ores, ratios, and more.
How to Make the Best Gear in The Forge Roblox – Basics

There are only a handful of ores and ore ratios that will make the best gear in The Forge, and there is a simple reason for that: some ores have OP passives when used for crafting, and some have mediocre ones or none at all. Here are the basics of making the best gear in The Forge:
- Ore Ratio Required for Traits: An ore needs to be 30% of the total ores to have its maximum trait buff applied. 10% is enough to get the lowest bonus (10%), but that’s often negligible, except for Poopite. Check out all the traits in our ores guide.
- Ore Trait Scaling: 10%-30% of total ores → 10%-100% trait bonus.
- Example: If an ore is 20% of the total ores, its trait will be applied at 55% strength.
- The Best Ores for Armor: The best ores for armor pieces are Darkryte (15% Dodge Chance), Demonite (20% DMG burn for 2s with 15% chance on hit; 25% to burn enemy when taking damage), Obsidian (+30% HP), Poopite (frightens enemies for 5s when you drop below 35% HP; 15s CD), Eye Ore (+15% Physical DMG, -10% HP), Uranium (deal 5% Max HP DMG around you every second), and Mythril (+15% HP).
- The Best Ores for Weapons: The best ores for weapons are Darkryte (15% Dodge Chance), Demonite (20% DMG burn for 2s with 15% chance on hit; 25% to burn enemy when taking damage), Eye Ore (+15% Physical DMG, -10% HP), Fireite (20% Burn DMG for 2s with 30% chance on-hit), Rivalite (+20% Crit Chance), and Magmaite (50% DMG AoE explosion with 35% chance on-hit), and high-multiplier ores (if you’re targeting maximum base damage).
- Poopite Gear: With just one piece of gear with the Poopite trait, you’ll gain a 15s CD utility that will always save you from death. Poopite is arguably the most OP ore in The Forge, and it’ll allow you to solo Reaper and any other hard enemy without problem.
- Maximizing Stats: If possible, you want to go with higher-cost ores, making sure that each ore is at least 30% of the total to maximize buffs. That way, you’ll be maximizing value as well, and therefore, the rolled DMG/DEF stats.
- Using 4 Ores Isn’t Good: By using 4 ores, you’re possibly downgrading the effects of some passives that outvalue the multiplier gain. Only go for 4 ores if you want to buff the multiplier a bit, and the important passives are already maxed out.
- 100% Darkryte Weapons/Armor Could Theoretically be the Best: Maximizing stats with multiplier could be the best option. However, the passives provide multiplicative boosts to your DPS/HP/etc., which you can’t get from stacking DEF. Also, since we don’t know the exact effect of DEF on damage calculation, we can’t determine how much better/worse it is compared to flat HP.
Best Ores & Recipes for Armor in The Forge Roblox
In The Forge, the stats of armor scale with its type (Heavy > Medium > Light), and there are no drawbacks to using heavier armor. Therefore, Heavy Armor is the only one you should be trying to craft and using in general. In the table below, you can see the best ore recipes for the best armor in The Forge right now. Also, if you want to min-max, try to craft Dark Knight Heavy Armor, as it has better DEF than the regular Knight Heavy Armor.
| Armor Piece | Best Ore #1 | Best Ore #2 | Best Ore #3 |
|---|---|---|---|
![]() Heavy Helmet (27 Total) | ![]() Darkryte x9 | ![]() Eye Ore x9 | ![]() Obsidian x9 |
![]() Heavy Leggings (30 Total) | ![]() Darkryte x12 | ![]() Eye Ore x9 | ![]() Obsidian x9 |
![]() Heavy Chestplate (36 Total) | ![]() Darkryte x14 | ![]() Eye Ore x11 | ![]() Obsidian x11 |
Substitute Ores for Armor
| Substitute Ore #1 | Substitute Ore #2 | Substitute Ore #3 | Substitute Ore #4 | Substitute Ore #5 |
|---|---|---|---|---|
![]() Demonite Better multiplier but worse passive than Obsidian. | ![]() Uranium Decent passive for AFK farming weaker mobs. | ![]() Poopite Use it if you want, but on only one piece of armor! | ![]() Mythril More value but worse passive than Obsidian. | ![]() Lightite Extra movement speed can be nice. |
Pro Armor Crafting Tips
- You can craft the Heavy Helmet with fewer than 27 ores, but this way you’re improving the odds of getting Heavy Leggings over Medium armor. Therefore, it’s worth going for a 27-ore craft for Heavy Helmet.
- If you already have the Helmet and the Leggings, you can go for more than 36 ores on the Chestplate craft, just to make sure you get it.
- You can use a 4th ore if you want to maximize the value multiplier or if you don’t have enough of the best ores. Just make sure that all the main ores are ≥30% of the total used ores.
Best Ores & Recipes for All Weapons in The Forge Roblox
In the table below, you’ll find the best recipes for every weapon type in The Forge. Generally, the highest-rarity weapons from each category are the best regarding stats, and you’ll want to craft them if possible.
| Weapon | Best Ore #1 | Best Ore #2 | Best Ore #3 |
|---|---|---|---|
![]() Dagger (3 Total) | ![]() Darkryte x1 | ![]() Magmaite x1 | ![]() Eye Ore x1 |
![]() Straight Sword (6 Total) | ![]() Darkryte x2 | ![]() Magmaite x2 | ![]() Eye Ore x2 |
![]() Gauntlets (9 Total) | ![]() Darkryte x3 | ![]() Magmaite x3 | ![]() Eye Ore x3 |

![]() Colossal Sword (43 Total) | ![]() Darkryte x17 | ![]() Magmaite x13 | ![]() Eye Ore x13 |
Substitute Ores for Weapons
| Substitute Ore #1 | Substitute Ore #2 | Substitute Ore #3 | Substitute Ore #4 |
|---|---|---|---|
![]() Demonite Doesn’t provide a passive, but has high multiplier for extra base DMG. | ![]() Fireite Decent passive and multiplier, but not OP. | ![]() Rivalite Better passive than Fireite, but provides lower multiplier/DMG. | ![]() Poopite Can be used for weapons, but it brings the multiplier/DMG down by a lot. |
Pro Weapon Crafting Tips
- Going with Poopite is bad for weapons, as their base Damage relies on the value and multiplier. Use Poopite for crafting weapons only in the early game.
- You can really min-max the value/stats by using more Magmaite/high-multiplier ores than Eye Ore, but they are much harder to find.
- You can go as high as you want to guarantee the Colossal Sword craft, but there are severe diminishing returns on the chance beyond 43 total ores used.
- For heavy weapons with low attack speed, Fireite’s on-hit passive doesn’t make much sense, as you want to 1-shot stuff. Instead, go with Darkryte, Demonite, and other high-multiplier ores for the maximum possible flat damage.
