How to Unlock Subclasses?

Visit areas with NPCs to unlock the subclasses during a run – Image by Gamepur

You can unlock subclasses during a run by talking to the various NPCs in the Forest/Dungeon. The subclass you unlock lasts for the rest of the run, and it can’t be changed (if you pick one subclass, you can’t pick the other after it). Subclasses give you additional moves or replace your base class’s moves, and extra gear. Here are all the subclass NPCs and their locations:

  • Warrior [Rampager]: Talk to Powerful Stranger in the Forest.
  • Brawler [Elementalist]: Talk to Meditating Man in the Forest.
  • Rogue [Assassin]: Talk to Strange Man in the Forest.

How Combat Works in An Average Campaign

How combat works in the An Average Campaign (AAC) Roblox experience
Combat in AAC is turn-based and relies on Initiative for turn orders – Image by Gamepur

Combat in An Average Campaign is turn-based, and the turn order is decided by each character’s Initiative. During your turn, you can use attacks/spells (Fight), items from your inventory (Items), or regenerate Energy (Focus). There is no way to run away or skip turns. Once you’ve defeated all enemies or your whole party is defeated, the combat ends. Here are some combat tips to help you out:

  • Focus Single Enemies: You want to focus on one enemy at a time, and calculate your moves based on your skill damage.
  • Use Items: You’ll get summon scrolls as you play, and those summons can soak up damage for you. Use them whenever you are against a difficult enemy.
  • Use Focus as a Spellcaster: If you’re in a party, use Focus as a spellcaster to have enough Energy for your spells. This is especially important for healing/support classes that don’t need to attack much.
  • Don’t Spam Skills: Even though you have enough Energy for a skill, it’s often better to just use a regular attack if you can execute an enemy. Then, on the next turn, you can use an even better skill, possibly.

How the Inventory Works in An Average Campaign

Inventory and rest areas in the An Average Campaign (AAC) Roblox experience
Use the stash to transfer items between party members – Image by Gamepur

The inventory is visible whenever you visit a shop or are resting between areas. There are multiple things you can do in your inventory while resting, and here are explanations for each one of them:

  • Stash: You can transfer items and Gold to the stash so other party members can access them. Items that are in your inventory aren’t visible to other party members.
  • Craft: The crafting menu is available on the left once you switch to the Craft tab. Here you can craft items.
  • Inventory: Your main inventory. Click on an item to equip it. Transfer moves an item to the stash, while inspect shows its detailed information.
  • Abilities: Switch to the abilities tab within your inventory to see all your attacks and spells and their descriptions.
  • Consumable: Clicking on a consumable item equips it in the consumable slot, and it automatically activates at the start of the fight.
  • Equipment: You can see all your equipment and stats on the right panel. Click on an equipped item to see its stats.
  • Invest Points: Click on Invest Points in the bottom right to upgrade your base stats.

How Map & Encounters Work in An Average Campaign

Area selection and map movement in the An Average Campaign (AAC) Roblox experience

After each combat in An Average Campaign, you’ll have to choose the next location where your party goes. Each location has a different difficulty, indicated by the stars at the bottom, as well as effects. After every encounter, you heal either 10 HP or 15% of your Max HP (whichever number is higher).

There are 8 areas in the Forest (number at the top-right) that you’ll need to go through to reach the Giant (Forest boss). After defeating the Giant, you’ll move to the Dungeon, which has 12 areas, and the last boss (Bone Drake).

How to Revive Allies

To revive an ally, you’ll need to find the Altar or the Necromancer event within the Dungeon. Offer 250 Gold to the Atar, or alternatively, 100 Gold to the Necromancer to revive an ally. Altar fully heals the ally, while the Necromancer revives them with only a portion of their HP. Dead allies keep their level from when they died (if they die at level 5, they stay at level 5 upon resurrection).

How Item Crafting Works in An Average Campaign

With the resources that you collect during a run, you’ll be able to craft items while at the camp. Click on the Craft tab within the Stash on the left to see all the recipes. Items whose components you have will be shown, while others will be hidden. Crafted weapons and gear last only for that run.

How Boons Work in An Average Campaign

Boons are unique bonuses you can unlock and enable for your runs in An Average Campaign. You can unlock and equip them at the NPC at the counter in the lobby. You have 5 Boon Slots, and each Boon has a slot requirement. You can only enable a few boons at a time, depending on how many slots each of them takes up.

Default Boons are always visible in the Boon menu, and you can check out their stats there and buy them from the menu. However, there is also a bunch of hidden Boons that you’ll need to unlock in order to use.
