The Black Armory DLC is here for Destiny 2, and that means you are on the hunt for access to the Forge. The first step is to head to either the Outskirts or the Gulch, on the EDZ and find yourself a weapon core. There is little explanation in the game as to what this entails, but that is okay, we have you covered.

How To Find A Weapon Core

The first thing to do is head for either the Gulch or the Outskirts. It doesn’t matter which you choose; the process is the same for each one. Once you get there, just do Guardian things. Loot stuff, shoot stuff and spread the Light. You are waiting for a specific enemy to spawn. At some point, a yellow bar servitor called the Forge Saboteur will spawn. You do get a message on screen when it does happen, so you are unlikely to miss it.

Once it has spawned, you need to find it, then engage it. The first step is to destroy the smaller shield drones that float around it. Once these are all dead, kill the Servitor as fast as you can. A little warning here, this is tough, and more than a few Guardians I have seen were surprised by how much damage it can put out.

Once you have killed the Servitor, you now need to have a quick scout around for the Weapon Cache that it was guarding. Interact with the Cache, and you will have found the weapon core and can move on to the next stage of the quest. Editor’s note: You do not need to kill the Servitor to loot the cache, but we’re Guardians, and that’s what we do.

Also, as Black Armory has just released, there is always a chance that a step, or some of the nuance of a quest, may be missing from the Guide. If this is the case, the guide will be updated as soon as we find out any other information.
