There’s a glitch that allows players to spike all the heads in Mortal Kombat 11 Krypt Mode.

In Krypt Mode, you take control of a nameless warrior and traverse the island where the original Mortal Kombat game took place. In the area known as the Warriors Shrine, you’ll spot statues of the original seven playable characters of Mortal Kombat 1.

Opposite of the statues are a series of spikes. The spikes are in front of the faces of all the playable characters, including Frost and Shao Kahn. Below the spikes is a chest. To open the chest below the spike, you need to bring the severed head of the character that the spike is in front of. You need to stab the severed head on the spike, and the chest will open. The chest should have some goodies for you.

Opening these chests will allow you to enter Shang Tsung’s throne room, which is north on the map.

However to get a character’s severe head takes a long time. To get a severe head, you will need to use a Fatality on a single character 50 times. We go over the easiest way to accomplish it in a legit way.

With that said, there appears to be a glitch in the game to make the process much faster. As discovered by Dynasty and other YouTubers, there’s a glitch that would allow you to spike the heads of every character without doing 50 Fatalities on every character.

The method is simple and won’t take up much time. As you press the X button (if you have a PS4) or A button (if you have an Xbox One) to enter the Krypt mode in Mortal Kombat 11’s main menu, hold the X or A button. Keep holding X or A as the loading screen appears. Keep holding the button as you appear in the Krypt; hold the X/A button as you walk up to one of the spikes in the Warrior Shrine. It doesn’t matter what character you start with; you’ll get the same result.

If you haven’t let go of X or A, then the severed head of the character that the spike belongs to will atomically appear. The chest will open, and all the goodies will be yours.

To repeat the process with the other characters, you’ll need to exit back to the main menu and replicate the process from there. It is possible to use this method to spike every characters’ head.

This is a glitch, one that NetherRealm studios will probably fix once this gets around towards more people. If you want to get the severe heads for all the characters, you better do it as quickly as you can.

UPDATE

All good things must come to an end. The latest 1.04 patch for Mortal Kombat 11 appears to have fix this glitch. If you hadn’t done it already, it’s too late. Now you’re stuck doing the legit way, by performing 50 Fatalities on all the characters.
