All Runaway Boulder locations in Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 3

Free the rocks to complete quests and eliminate enemies.

In typical Fortnite fashion, there are many features on the Chapter 3 Season 3 map that may appear useless but are secretly quite handy. This can be said for the Runaway Boulders, round rocks that can be set free and rolled to damage enemies and buildings in their path. Better yet, the battle royale has already included a few challenges involving Runaway Boulders that can lead to more than 30,000 XP. Here’s where and how you can get the most out of these massive structures.

Where to find Runaway Boulders in Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 3

Runaway Boulders are primarily located on top of mountains around Logjam Lumberyard and Rave Cave in the game’s snowy biome. However, as shown below, players can also discover a few outside of Reality Falls, Shifty Shafts, and Sleepy Sound. Once you’re at one of these spots, you can then roll the boulder downhill by damaging it until its health bar is empty. The rocks can also work as a weapon against enemies and structures, as any player hit will be sent flying and then damaged once they are back onto the ground.

Seasonal quests also allow you to earn thousands of XP by releasing Runaway Boulders in specific ways. For instance, Week 3’s set of challenges tasks players with dislodging or destroying three boulders with a melee weapon. Those willing to take on the challenge should look to do this on Seven Outpost II’s mountain in the top right corner of the map with boulders placed all around its sides. Additionally, another quest can net you XP once you have hit a boulder with a boosted Baller, a vehicle that can mainly be found around Rave Cave.
