Shi No Numa main Easter egg quest guide in Call of Duty: Vanguard Zombies

The classic returns.

Shi No Numa has been brought back from the dead in Call of Duty: Vanguard Zombies and is the game’s first round-based Zombies map. Originally, this map was one of the classics from World at War and was partially brought back in Der Anfang. Now we have the whole thing returning with a new section and a new main Easter egg quest. Here is how to complete the Shi No Numa main Easter egg quest in Call of Duty: Vanguard Zombies.

Shi No Numa’s main Easter egg quest in Call of Duty: Vanguard Zombies

Before you begin

Use whatever gun you are most comfortable with for this main Easter egg quest. Someone on your team will need to get the Wunderwaffe DG-2, but other than that, you should be using whatever weapons you find to be the most powerful. Also, any artifact that you feel best keeps you alive should be equipped.

When the game starts, rack up some points and make your way out to the Doctor’s Quarters Exterior. Make it to round five and wait for Boom-Schriers to spawn. Lead three of them near the vines on the monolith and blow them up to remove the runes and begin the main Easter egg quest progression.

Begin building the Wunderwaffe DG-2

As mentioned above, you will need the Wunderwaffe DG-2 to complete this quest. If you feel lucky, you can try and get it from the Mystery Box, but we recommend beginning the process of building it at this time. You won’t be able to finish it until round 15, but you should have the Gun Barrel, and at least one of the vacuum tubes charged up by round 10.

Cypher Wheels

After you clear the runes from the monolith, you need to gather three Cypher Wheels and put them on the stone. The locations are always in Dormitory, Doctor’s Quarters, and Dig Site.

When you have all three, put them on the monolith and you can now begin spinning them. There are three symbols around the map you need to find and compare them to a cypher to line up the top line of symbols on those wheels. Here is the key for the symbols.

The symbols will change in each game, but you can always find them in the same locations: Dig Site, Excavation Room (shoot the books on top), and Comm Room.

When you have your symbols, interact with the wheels to be able to spin them. While doing this, zombies will not attack you, so don’t worry about them. Look at the table and find the symbols you found in your game. You are going to need to turn each wheel until all three symbols are facing towards 12 like a clock. When you have them, lock in your guess, and you will get a confirmation if you were right or not, and some totems will appear around the area.

Build the Wunderwaffe DG-2

Before you can go any further, someone on your team needs to have the Shi No Numa wonder weapon. If you are not to round 15 yet for Savalla to spawn in, rack up the points and get her in to get that final vacuum tube. You also should consider Pack-a-Punching the Wunderwaffe and getting as much of the Speed Cola perk (Demon Frenzy in this game) as possible because the gun reloads so slowly. When you’re ready, all team members need to return to the Doctor’s Quarters Exterior and interact with a totem to begin the next step.

Gathering Zombie souls in the monolith

When you all interact with the totems, blue light streams will jet out to the monolith, and enemies will begin spawning. Whoever has a Wunderwaffe will need to shoot and kill zombies with blue smoke coming from them near the monolith. Their soul will travel into the stream when they die in this way.

Keep in mind that Sturmkriegers will be included in the enemies, so try and take them down as quickly as possible. If you do not get enough souls within a minute, you will fail this part and have to wait for the next round to start again. Whatever happens, prioritize your health and not going down in this situation; otherwise, things will get messy. You can keep track of your progress by the light streams disappearing as you gather more souls.

When you complete this, Siraxis’ Echo will appear, and you will learn about a mirror you need to find.

Collect the two halves of the mirror

Now when you enter the Flogger Courtyard, the empty demon blood fountain will have a red glow to it. You need to activate the Flogger trap and have it send a bunch of zombies into the fountain, filling it up. You can go prone under the trap to lure them in. Before you begin drinking out of it, we recommend holding one zombie.

When you drink out of the fountain, you will have the Zombie Blood power-up for a limited time. You need to find two halves of the before-mentioned mirror while it is active.

First, look around the main hut for a red orb. When you interact with it, it will begin moving around the map, and Boom-Schriers will spawn. Kill them as soon as you see them and follow the orb to the end of its path, where it will turn into the first half of the mirror.

For the second half, you need to drink the blood, go into the War Room, and look at this map. While Zombie Blood is active, an X will show you where you need to look for the last mirror part.

Go to that location and look towards the ceiling for the mirror. Shoot it, and it will float down for you to grab.

Energize podium

Now you need to place the mirror halves on the podium in the Dig Site. This will create blue orbs for however many people are in your game. When you all interact with an orb, it will fly into the sky and go to a section of the map. You must follow the orb you interacted with and shoot it three times around that area until it returns to the Dig Site.

If you are playing solo, you only do this step once. With multiple people, you have to do it multiple times.

When you are finished, this is your point of no return before the boss fight. Be sure to grab perks and upgrades you want before beginning the boss fight. Also, whoever has the Wunderwaffe will want to have it upgraded because you need it for the fight.

Boss fight

When you are ready for the boss fight, interact with the orbs, and Echo will return and give you some backstory on Saraxis. When the fight begins, she will act like Savalla, putting out electric mines that explode and harm you. Just keep moving around the Dig Site to get a train going and avoid this damage. Unlike Savalla, you cannot hurt Echo quite yet.

As zombies spawn into the area, you will notice some with blue smoke. You need to electrify them with the Wunderwaffe when they are near the podium. Their soul will go into the podium and eventually create a blue dome. Lure Echo into the dome and begin shooting her in the mask. If you get her health down a third, the next stage of the fight will begin, and multiple power-ups will appear. If you do not do enough damage, just a Max Ammo will appear, and you need to do it again.

The last two stages are very similar to the first, but the smoke will be on different enemies. In the second stage, you need to shoot Boom-Schriers with the smoke on them, and the third will be Sturmkriegers.

Keep moving around the area for this entire fight, and do not rush yourself. There is no time limit for this fight so prioritize staying up and shooting the enemies you need to. Whoever has the Wunderwaffe should focus on the Sturmkriegers regardless because that is the quickest way to take them down.

When you get Echo’s health depleted, she will go down, and you will complete the main quest Easter egg for Shi No Numa. Interact with the podium to get a bunch of rewards and go on playing the game until you go down or exfil.
