Sprite Variants and Their Effects

Sprites in Fortnite also have variations, which have different skins and additional effects on top of their base passive. Sprite variations have an increased chance to spawn during Power Hours. Here is the list of all the Sprite variations and the bonuses they provide:

• Gold Sprites: Grant 3x bonus Sprite XP from eliminations.
• Gummy Sprites: Grant 20% more Sprite Dust when extracted.
• Galaxy Sprites: Grant 30% more ammo whenever it is picked up.
• Holofoil Sprites: Grant a 5% chance for your whole squad to find rare Sprites from containers.
• Gem Sprites: Grant the Overdrive effect while in The Storm.
• Cube Sprites: Grant 30% damage reduction to fall damage.

NOTE: Burnt Peanut, Vini Jr., and Pollo Sprites are unique and have no variants.

Sprite variants have increased summon costs depending on their rarity:

• Rare: 4,000 Sprite Dust
• Epic: 6,000 Sprite Dust
• Legendary: 10,000 Sprite Dust
• Mythic: 15,000 Sprite Dust

How to Get Sprites in Fortnite

The first time you log into Fortnite, you’ll have a choice between the three starter Sprites: Fire, Earth, and Water. The Sprite you choose will be permanently available and resummonable for 100 Sprite Dust in the Sprite Lobby menu. If you don’t extract the Sprite you brought into battle, it will be lost, and you’ll need to resummon it in order to equip it before a battle.

To unlock new Sprites and their variants, you’ll need to find them, pick them up, and then use one of the Extraction Sites highlighted on the map to extract them. Once extracted, the Sprite and the variant will be permanently unlocked in your Sprite lobby menu. You can also extract a Sprite by getting a Victory Royale or by using the Portable Extractor, which you can purchase at the Sprite Dust Service Station next to the Extraction Site for 2,000 Sprite Dust.

Sprite Dust Service Stations

Sprite Dust Service Stations are located close to the Portable Extractor panel and offer a few bonuses you can purchase, including a portable extractor and a scan/location of all nearby Sprites:

• 20,000 XP: 10,000 Sprite Dust (available once per day)
• Portable Extractor: 2,000 Sprite Dust
• Rarity Upgrade: 250 / 500 / 1,000 / 2,000 Sprite Dust
• Locate Sprites: 100 Sprite Dust

How to Level Up Sprites and How Mastery Works in Fortnite

Leveling up Sprites increases their passive bonuses, making them stronger the more you fight and loot. Each Sprite has its own level that you increase as you use them in combat. Extracting with a Sprite preserves its level, while not extracting resets it back to Level 1, forcing you to resummon it and level it up again.

Each Sprite you extract at Level 5 will be considered permanently mastered and unlock a bonus in the Rewards section of the lobby Sprite menu. You unlock 1 bonus level per Sprite mastered. The rewards include XP, cosmetic items, Sprite Dust, Portable Extractors, Sprite Locators, and other useful items.
