The Last of Us Part 2

How to cycle and switch weapons in The Last of Us Part II

Don't get caught out.

The Last of Us Part 2 will put you in lots of harrowing and violent situations, but luckily you will amass an arsenal of weapons throughout the game. Exactly which weapon you need at any given moment will be dictated by the type of enemy you are fighting, and distance, so being able to quickly cycle through weapons is important.

Being able to rapidly switch between weapons will make you more adaptable in a fight. You can do this by hitting left or right on the D-pad. This will switch between your holstered weapons, and you can change the weapons you keep in the holsters by pressing left or right on the D-pad and holding the square button. You start out with a limited number of holsters but can collect them for more weapons throughout the game.

If you hit the R1 button, you will quickly cycle through your available weapons, but it won’t skip something that you don’t have ammo for, so be sure to keep a close watch on your ammo levels for each weapon.

You should be sure to explore all the environments that you find yourself in throughout the game, as there are weapons to be found, and lots of weapon scraps that will allow you to upgrade your guns at the Weapon Workbench. You can also find important training manuals that will open up skill trees that allow you to make the most of your weapons.
