How to craft Izanagi’s Burden Sniper and solve the Mysterious Datapad Riddle in Destiny 2.
Now that Destiny 2 players have unlocked the all four Black Armory Forges, they can take a step forward and unlock the Izanagi’s Burden Sniper (that could be the best exotic sniper rifle in the game, so far). In this guide, we explain to you how to complete the quest and to solve the so celebrated Datapad Riddle.
Retrieving the Mysterious Box
If you haven’t actively participated in the Black Armory events, to the first thing you have to do is retrieve the Mysterious Box. To find it, you must go to the Sunken Isles of EDZ, go left into the tunnels until the Volundr Forge and fall to the left before entering into the Forge.
How to drop the first Three Keys
To reach the final step and retrieve the Mysterious Box’s key, you have to retrieve three keys – one for each forge – first. This requires reaching each forge, getting to the second wave of enemies and destroying drones.
Fishhook Key – Volundr Forge: look at the photos to find the drones spawning points.
Hand Key – Gofannon Forge: look at the photos to find the drones spawning points.
Butterfly Key – Izanami Forge: look at the photos to find the drones spawning points.
The Black Armor Key
When you have all three keys, you can get the Black Armor Key Mold (see Ada-1 to get the quest). The quest will ask you to collect 24 lenses from Watchers in Leviathan Raid. To enter the underbelly, you have to enter 1-5-3-3-2-4-6 as code and, once inside, we suggest you farm lenses in the Engine Room.
For the next step, you have to collect 200 Glimmering Amethyst from Strike Chests, Public Events, and Caches (we suggest to do it clearing Heroics or trying the Lake of Shadows strike).
Now you can go to the Bergusia Forge and shoot the drones we show you in photos.
Now you can open the Mysterious Box and obtain the Mysterious Decryption Device and the so celebrated Datapad. Remember to take the new items to Ada-1 to receive the instructions for the next step and to begin your collection to craft the Izanagi’s Burden Sniper.
The Unidentified Frame
The first step requires you to collect an Unidentified Frame. To get the frame, the first step requires you to deliver a rare Black Armory Bounty. If you already have one, it will be enough to deliver it, otherwise, note that you can drop it doing Daily Black Mail Armory Bounties. When delivered it, you’ll get an Obsidian Crystal: to move on the next step, you have to consume it. At this point, you have to complete Shattered Throne dungeon to get Ascendant Glass Shard. Finally, you have to earn Radiant Phaseglass, following the mission marker to the Pyramidion strike. Here you are: now you have all you need to craft an Unidentified Radiant Frame.
Izanagi’s Burden Sniper
Take the Lock and Key quest, go to Bergusia and defeat Siviks: he’ll drop an item called Not a Weapon. Now, return to the Tower and use your Hyperion Core to craft the Izanagi’s Burden Sniper.
Mysterious Datapad Riddle
You should have noticed we haven’t talked about the Mysterious Datapad Riddle so far (just because you have to craft Izanagi’s Burden Riddle before). To use it, you have to go to the lower level of Niobe Labs and find a lever with “start mission” written on. This will start the Lost Souvenir quest and you’ll be transported to a tricky room. Now follow the instructions below:
- Shoot Missive with Bow
- Shoot Storm with LMG
- Shoot Pagoda with Sniper
- Shoot Dawn with Bow
- Shoot Star with LMG
- Shoot Hand with LMG
- Go under the main platform and shoot Black Armory Symbol with Sniper
At this point, all you have to do is shoot enemies with Izanagi’s Burden Sniper and collect Forge Essence by playing through the forges with Black Armory Gear. You will get Obsidian Dreams emblem and Obsidian Accelerator as a reward.
