The Vex are flooding out of the Black Garden, and only the Traveler knows why. In this guide, we will show you how to start the Vex Offensive, the new content that has just arrived in Destiny 2.

Destiny 2 – How To Start The Vex Offensive

Vex Offensive

The first step to starting the Vex Offensive is to visit Ikora in the Tower. She will give you an item called Vex Invasion Emergent Protocol, which tasks you with killing Vex on the Moon and defeating Gate Lords.

The quest gets a little confusing because when you click on Vex Offensive on the map of the Moon, you won’t be able to do anything. It tells you to complete “Eyes on the Moon” instead.

What you need to do is go patrol on the Moon. You may have noticed three Vex head symbols on there since Shadowkeep launched. You will see them marked in the red boxes above. These show areas where the Vex is trying to invade. Think of them as a version of Public Events. When one starts, you will need to fight a colossal wave of Vex and take out a Gate Lord. Do this three times to finish the challenge posed by the Vex Invasion Emergent protocol, and continue with the Vex Offensive.

The Invasions appear to be tied to the Public Even timing, so if you see a Public Event marker is active, do the PE, then wait around for a couple of minutes, and the Invasion should occur.

They won’t always be active, but you should notice a small amount of Vex enemies now show up when you are on Patrol. Keep doing circuits on the Moon until one of the hotspots becomes active. You won’t be able to miss it, as a massive ball of energy will hang in the sky as the Vex pour in.

Once you have done this and completed the item challenge, go and visit Eris Morn. After talking with her, you will be able to launch the Vex Offensive from the Director.

Update: If you can’t get the item from Ikora, or if Eris Morn is awkward, reports are coming in to restart your game, and it should set things right for you.
