Moving to a new settlement in Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey is a surprisingly difficult feat with some hidden requirements and warnings.
In exploring the world of Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey, you’ll likely run into points called landmarks. A diamond often represents these while you’re using your intelligence. Landmarks have the option to become clan settlements if you happen to stumble into the right order of operations to unlock it.
How to Move to a New Settlement
Game Revolution’s guide is invaluable, especially if you stumbled into the right process by accident and didn’t know how to repeat it. First, you must discover a landmark you like. There are many in the jungle, but getting to them is quite the task, with snakes, boars, giant eagles, and saber-toothed cats. Focus on a landmark to keep it on your screen without pulling up intelligence.
Once you’ve discovered a landmark you like, make a bed near it. If you don’t know how to build a bed: gather natal grass into a pile and highlight it then select the build option. From there, choosing the bed gives you an option to settle in the new location.
Beware, however. Moving to a new settlement without your entire clan is a pain. Game Revolution warns if you decide to progress to the next generation, you lose the other clan members. The game considers those members dead. It’s not impossible to rebuild from there, should it happen, but it is difficult.
If you do not move to the next generation, you still need to get your clan. There’s no internet in this world. If you find a settlement alone, then you need to return to your tribe and lead them all there. Alternatively, if you’re looking to move, bring your entire group with you to the new location. Going it alone as a scout might be a more comfortable option overall.
Once you’ve all reached the boundaries of your settlement, congrats, you’ve officially moved to a new location and are free to progress time further.
