The best way to catch fish in Fortnite and complete your fish collection

Low stress fishing.

Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 4 has introduced a whole host of fish to the game. You even have a collection, marking all the types of fish, and if you have caught them or not. You can even compare the size of your catch to your friends to see who is the best angler. The only downside to all these fish is that finding the time to catch them while you are fighting for your life can be a bit of a problem.

The good news is that there is a way to spend some time safely fishing without running the risk of being shot by another player. Any fish you catch in the Battle Lab will count towards your collection, and you can happily fish in there for as long as you like without the shrinking storm pushing you away from your fishing spot.

There are even a couple of settings changes you can make to make fishing a quicker prospects in the Battle Lab. Before you load in, set your option to night time only. This increases fish spawns, and some of the new fish can only be caught at night. It’s also recommended to set your Loot to “High Explosives” to ensure you are not catching weapons when fishing.

When you load in, the first thing to do is get a Pro Fishing Rod. You can get lucky and get one from a barrel, but you can also upgrade a normal fishing rod to a Pro Fishing Rod at an upgrade bench.

We would suggest you start at Lazy Lake. There is a trailer just beside the dam at Hydro 16 that will have a barrel of fishing rods and an upgrade bench. Smash up some trees, walls, and metal and you will quickly have everything you need to upgrade your fishing rod. After that, get fishing. There are some fish that can only be caught with a Pro Fishing Rod, and it will also increase the chances of catching a rare fish.

There are certain fish that will only spawn in coastal, swampy, forest, and mountain areas, so be sure to check all over the map when you are looking for new types of fish. We have a guide showing the locations of each of the different fish, so you can head to an area, fish until you have them all, then move on to the next.

It will still take some time to complete your collection, but this is definitely the best way to do is with a peace of quiet. All you need to do is find a nice lo-fi beats to fish too stream and you are good to go.
