Every week Spider, the vendor and our uneasy ally in the Tangled Shore in the Reef, will offer several Wanted Bounties for us to complete. The bounties will involve hunting down escaped prisoners from the Prison of Elders and send them back to the pokey. This guide will help you finish the Wanted: Combustor Valus bounty.
Wanted: Combustor Valus
The Wanted: Combustor Valus bounty is a weekly bounty available for purchase from Spider for five Ghost Fragments. Its lore text reads as follows:
“Please make these distractions vacate my premises!” – The Spider
The Wanted Bounties deal with several prisoners that have escaped from the Prison of Elders. You may encounter them on your patrols, and you can recognize them by the “Wanted” part of their name. This particular bounty requires Guardians to be Power Level 500, but in reality, you’ll want to try to be stronger than that. It counts as a Weekly Bounty and will reward you with Powerful Gear.
Wanted: Combustor Valus Adventure
This bounty is the only one that appears on the map in the Director. Look for the “Wanted: Combustor Valus” adventure on any of the planets in the Director. The Adventure will take place in the Lost Sector on Mercury, but you need to interact with the nearby totem to start it.
How to Kill the Combustor Valus
Like the other weekly Wanted Bounties, it requires a little bit of strategy. As you approach his location, you’ll find him inside a large bubble dome. When you enter it, you will take continual damage. The strategy is to kill some of the other mini-bosses which will drop an item that when picked up provides an overshield.
The overshield will give extra protection against the burn inside the bubble, allowing you to deal damage for a more extended period. Then kill the Combustor Valus to complete the adventure and claim your rewards by handing in the bounty from the inventory screen.
