Destiny 2 is moving from Battle.net to Steam on Oct. 1. This process means you are going to need to transfer all your player and account information to Steam if you want to continue to play the game. It is no longer playable on Battle.net.

This process will transfer over your licenses for DLC, expansions and the Annual Pass, your Silver, and all your characters. All the information will be there waiting for you when Destiny 2 launches on Steam next month.

Destiny 2: How To Move Your Destiny 2 Account To Steam

Step 1

Go to the page Bungie has set up on its website to help you transfer your account. Log in, and hit “Get Started.”

Step 2

Ensure you have a current email address registered to the account. If you need to change the email address, verify it because you need to do this before you proceed.

Step 3

You need to Verify your listed characters, license (for DLC and expansions), and Silver.

Step 4

Accept the terms and conditions, then sign in to your Steam account. Steam may ask you to confirm the process using a code they email you.

And that’s it. Your account is now all set up to play Destiny 2 on Steam on Oct. 1. Below you will find the FAQ from Bungie’s website.

Which Destiny 2 purchases will transfer over from Battle.net to Steam?

The move from Battle.net to Steam will include a one-time transfer of ALL Destiny 2 content that a player already owns. These will include Player Accounts, Destiny 2, Expansions, Silver, Annual Pass, etc.

Can players pre-order Shadowkeep on Steam now and link accounts to accommodate the move later?

Yes. Players may purchase Destiny 2: Shadowkeep from Steam’s product page right now. On Aug. 20, we’ll welcome PC players back to this page to begin the process of linking their accounts on Blizzard’s Battle.net and Steam to facilitate the transfer of content on Oct. 1.

What will we find on Steam on October 1?

Current players of Destiny 2 on PC will be welcome to continue their adventure in Destiny 2: Shadowkeep, the next chapter in the story. New players will be able to take their first steps into that world in Destiny 2: New Light.

What happens if I don’t sign up to move my Guardians to Steam?

Unfortunately, Destiny will no longer be available on Blizzard’s Battle.net after Oct. 1. We hope you’ll follow us to our new home to continue your journey. It just wouldn’t be the same without you.
