Destiny 2 Strange Signal – how to get it and what to do

Stranger signals.

If you have been exploring Europa in Destiny 2: Beyond Light, you may have seen a flashing message on your screen that just says “Strange Signal”. In this article, we will tell you everything you need to know about it.

First up, where it comes from. At the northern end of Asterion Abyss is a yellowbar enemy called the Venator. You can find his general spawn location marked by the red box below. He won’t always be there, as he only spawns occasionally. There does not seem to be any indicator of his presence, you simply need to check if you are in the area. If you kill him, you will get the Strange Signal message on your screen.

Once you have the buff, head to the point marked by the red arrow. Here you will find a large construction of Vex origin, with a tunnel inside it. Head all the way into that area until you reach the Nexus. Ahead of you, you will see a friendly Vex (could it be the Captain?) and a Darkness splinter. Interact with the splinter to start the Test of Darkness.

This causes platforms to spawn in, and another Darkness splinter. Jump across to it and more platforms will spawn all around you. There will also be a Vex Diamond that you need to shoot above you. This will cause a temporary platform to spawn, and you will need to clear all enemies that appear on it. You can then jump back to the more permanent platforms when it destabilizes.

Keep doing this until a boss spawns in, then you will need to kill it. This is a little awkward, as the platforms will despawn under you, so always be reading to shoot a Vex Diamond and jump to the next one. Each time you spawn a new platform, you will get a full Super, which is very helpful.

When it is all over, you will get a nice loot chest for your troubles.
