Does Animal Crossing: New Horizons have paintings and art?

Do paintings come in the game?
This article is over 4 years old and may contain outdated information

Collectibles are a significant component of Animal Crossing: New Horizons. You can expect to sink in plenty of hours scouring the game to discover every little collectible available in the game to eventually have them shown off somewhere, such as featured on your island’s museum. Can you expect to spend a little time collecting art along the way?

Previous games had you purchase the items from Crazy Redd. He would have a variety of them available for you to purchase in Tom Nook’s shop, and you can buy any of the ones you were missing. They were items that cost quite a few Bells, and every so often, you had the possibility of encountering a fake among his collection.

This time around in New Horizons, the museum does not feature paintings and art collection, but we do not have a definite answer. The museum consists of fish, bugs, fossils, and a diverse selection of specimens available for you to grab during your journey in the game. If paintings do come to the game, they may become a later addition, or they may be available extremely far into the game. At this time, we cannot directly answer that question, but if they do come out we’ll figure out how to obtain them and how they can make your island feel like a proper home.

You can expect to spend plenty of time exploring your island, and the ones surrounding it, for Blathers. While exploring your museum, you will see there are quite a few empty spaces, waiting for more bugs, fish, and other creatures to join your growing home.
