Fire Emblem: Three Houses gives you the option of two difficulties when you start, Normal or Hard, but which one should you pick?
Fire Emblem: Three Houses is out, and people are starting their journey instructing one of the great Houses within the game. When you first start a new game, you will be asked if you want to play on normal or hard, but which one should you choose? There are many decisions to be made in Fire Emblem: Three Houses, but this one is very important, and impacts the game in many ways.
Fire Emblem: Three Houses – Should You Play On Normal Or Hard?
When choosing between normal and hard, keep in mind that one of the areas affected will be battles. On hard difficulty, enemy units do more damage, attack more often, and the required strategy and tactics to win will subsequently be more difficult. It’s a considerable difference, so my first suggestion is that if you are playing more for the RPG side, pick Normal difficulty, if you want more demanding gameplay, then pick Hard.
There are differences outside of the fights also. If you play on Normal difficulty, then some weekly skirmish battles won’t cost any action points. This means you can play more missions, level up your team faster, and get past any power checks in the game a little easier. If you are new to the series, then Normal is the way to go, as the game is designed for more than one playthrough, you can learn the ropes, then challenge yourself further by playing your next campaign on Hard.
The Difference Between Classic And Casual
Deciding between Classic and Casual is also very important, and this boils down to how forgiving you want the game to be. It’s not very difficult for series fans to make this choice, and they will jump straight for Classic. Classic means that if you lost a character in battle, or via other means, then they stay dead.
Once again, if you are here more for the RPG elements of the game, then you want to go with Casual, as this will bring back dead characters for you if they fall in battle. If you are all about exploring the storylines, then you don’t want your character to permanently die because it’s going to be very hard to talk to them afterwards.
That’s about everything you need to know about the choices between Normal or Hard, and Classic or Casual in Fire Emblem: Three Houses. I know people can be a bit mean about this type of thing, but play the game however you want, you paid for it at the end of the day.
