Houses are very important to fans of Harry Potter, so in this article we will talk about what you need to know about the Houses in Harry Potter: Wizard Unite.

Harry Potter: Wizards Unite allows you to choose from one of the four Houses that you will all be used to from the books and films. Unlike the lore, there is no Sorting Hat to put you in the House you are destined for, instead, it’s a simple choice.

Which House Should You Choose?

You can choose which House you want to be in from your Profile on the main game screen. Tap it to bring up your profile page. From here, you can do things like register your wand, set your profile picture, and choose your Hogwarts House. You can pick from Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, Slytherin, and Gryffindor.

Now, there are no gameplay differences between the four different Houses. You will not be locking yourself out of any in-game activities based on which one you pick. While this might be some bad news to some people, I think we can all appreciate why Niantic has made this decision. They want everyone to be able to play the game, and not miss out on activities they could do with their friends.

I should also point out that Houses probably will become more critical as time goes on, as if the game follows how Pokemon GO went, there will be all kinds of Challenges where Houses need to achieve specific goals to unlock rewards. As such, pick the House you want to be in, based on your enjoyment of the Harry Potter world. Since you didn’t ask, I went with Ravenclaw, the best House.

It might also be a good idea to make sure that you and your friends who play the game together all go for the same House. Not only will it help to maintain the feel of the books, but you do get extra XP while playing with your friends. And you don’t want anyone to think you are weird for hanging out with that Hufflepuff kid.
