How to get the Compound Bow in Fallout 76

Stealthy.

The Compound Bow is a new weapon that has been added to Fallout 76 with the Wastelanders expansion. The weapon has obvious appeal because it can be very stealthy, allowing you to sneak around in areas you shouldn’t be without calling everyone to your location if you need to kill someone or something.

To get the Compound Bow, you must first make your way to Foundation. Foundation, formally known as Spruce Knob, is a new settlement that was added in Wastelanders. Getting your hands on the Compound Bow will take a little bit of work.

Foundation Location

First, you need to know where you can eventually get it from. After you enter Foundation, walk straight up the central path towards Sunny’s Store. Here, you can buy a blueprint for a Bow, and eventually, you will be able to get the Compound Bow, but first, you will need to gain reputation with the Settlers who run Foundation.

You will need to make it all the way to get the rank of Ally to get access to both the bow and any mods that it can use.

To gain rank, and reputation, with the Settlers, you will need to help them against the raiders, pick positive dialogue options when speaking with them, and complete quests and daily mission for the various NPCs in the faction. Make sure you do not kill any Settlers, or this will reduce your reputation with them, extending the time it will take to get the Compound Bow.

And that’s it, everything you need to know to get your hands on the Compound Bow. It is just about building your reputation as fast as you can, and the best way to do that is to focus your efforts on the people you find in and around Foundation and what they need help with.

Now, we are currently working off the assumption that you can also buy this from Raider’s main settlement, as it seems unusual for the game to punish you based on faction choices like that. As soon as we can confirm this, we will update the article accordingly.
