Destiny 2 players are on the hunt to collect their Stasis Fragments. These become available after you’ve completed several quests, such as the Born in Darkness part 1, part 2, and part 3, Stasis Prototype, and the Aspect of Control. After all of those, you can return to the Exo Stranger to speak to her about acquiring fragments, and you do it through these quests. Each player receives two per week, and they come from three quest type categories: Crucible, Strikes, or Gambit. For those who choose to undergo the Gambit matches, you may be required to collect Umbral Particles for the Umbral Schemes quest.
Umbral Particles will be a resource you collect during Gambit matches. You won’t see it in your inventory when you receive it, so the amount you collected shows up on the quest. For Umbral Schemes, you need to collect 20 Umbral Particles.
To collect these particles, all you need to do is bank your motes during a Gambit match. You earn these motes by taking out enemies that spawn on the map. You can earn up to 15 before reaching the maximum and return to the bank at the center of the map. You receive the particles shortly after banking. However, it doesn’t only appear. You only have a chance of it happening each time you deposit your motes.
Your best strategy is to acquire as many motes as possible and turn them in. You may want to stick with only grabbing 10 or so before returning. When you deposit the motes, it sends a blocker to the enemy side.
At five motes you send a small one, at 10 a medium one, and at 15 a large one. These prevent the enemy team from depositing their motes, giving you and your allies the chance to summon a Primeval and win the game.
We’ve found that even turning in five motes yields a chance to obtain Umbral Particles, so don’t take too many risks. Turn in those motes as often as possible, and play as many Gambit matches as you can.
