One of the new Pokémon in Sword and Shield has an unusual evolution method. Sinistea will need an item called the Cracked Pot to evolve it into Polteagiest. In this guide, we will show you where you can catch Sinistea, and how to find a Cracked Pot.

You can find Sinistea outside of Stow-on-Side in Glimwood Tangle, where it lives quite happily with lots of other spooky Pokemon. It’s a hidden encounter, so you will need to pay attention to the grass in the area and begin encounters with every exclamation point that you see. Once you manage to catch the Pokémon, go back to Stow-on-Side to get yourself a Cracked Pot.

There is an NPC that sells random items near the Pokémon Center, and while he will randomly sell a Cracked Pot, there is an easier way to get it. Head for the stairs to his left, and climb the metal ladder on the right, just a few steps up. Walk down the roof to the right, and you will find a Cracked Pot.

Once you have the pot, you can use it to evolve Sinistea into Polteageist. Keep a note of where that NPC is, though, as you will need to buy other items from him to evolve other Pokémon, so it’s not a bad idea to check in with him daily to see what he is selling.
