Like all action-RPGs, Wolcen: Lords of Mayhem involves a lot of searching dark dungeons and blasted hellscapes. You will also be picking up a lot of helmets, swords, pistols, and other useful items from exploded enemies and random corpses. Eventually, the walking gets tiresome and your inventory gets full. You will have no choice but to head to a town and sell some of the gear you don’t want.
The good news is that Wolcen: Lords of Mayhem has a useful fast travel system to help you zip around the game to your heart’s content. On the main screen, you will be able to see a small blue icon at the bottom. Pressing this button will cast a spell that opens a portal and whisks you back to town. When you arrive, you will be able to visit NPCs and sell items, then go back to the portal, click on it again, and it will take you back to exactly the same place you left from. No need to walk back through the area you were exploring, saving you precious time.
The portal won’t stick around if you stop playing, so keep in mind if you use a portal to get back to town, then close the game, you’ll need to use the map screen to get back to the closest point you can. Hit M on your keyboard to open the map, and you will be able to see the locations of any portal waypoints that you have discovered. Portal waypoints can be teleported to at any time, and all areas will have some of them to make getting around the game’s world easier.
Search the areas you visit carefully to find all the portal waypoints, as it will make exploring the game fully, and backtracking, much easier. With all the loot that drops in Wolcen: Lord of Mayhem, there will be a lot of heading back and forth between the area that you are exploring, and the shops, so fast travel is a system that you will be using a lot.
