Riding a giant frog sounds like a dream, though it’s up to you to decide if it’s a thing of nightmares. Whatever your opinion might be, the Arboreal Gulper is a frog mount you can obtain in World of Warcraft: Shadowlands. Get your “lick toad” jokes ready for all the time you’ll spend riding this amphibious transport.
There are no covenant or alignment requirements for the Arboreal Gulper, so anyone can head to Ardenweald to begin the farming process for this one. We have good news and bad news about the drop rates: the rare elite Humon’gozz will drop the frog every single time, but you need to use a particularly rare item.
First, head over to 32.4, 30.2 in Ardenweald. It’s a location where Humon’gozz will spawn, but first, you need to get your hands on an Unusually Large Mushroom. Every regular enemy in the surrounding area has the potential to drop this, but the drop rate hovers around 5% or lower, so you could be here for a little while. Furthermore, the mushroom only survives for twenty minutes of real-time inside your bags, so when you do loot one, don’t waste any time returning to Humon’gozz’s spawning spot.
You’ll notice a Damp Loam located in the center of a patch of dirt, surrounded by thriving Ardenweald grass. With the Unusually Large Mushroom still in your inventory, interact with the Damp Loam, and you’ll bring out Humon’gozz, who was just lurking there the entire time.
If you’re having trouble finding the mushrooms, you might be able to stumble upon Humon’gozz when another group is busy killing him. As long as you tag the enemy while it’s in battle, you can loot the body afterward. Arboreal Gulper is a guaranteed drop, so make sure you don’t forget to search the corpse of Humon’gozz.
