How to Mega Evolve

To Mega Evolve, you will need to find a rare item called an Empowerment Seed. They are one-time use items, and you can find them in chests in Dungeons. They can also be earned as rewards for some missions. You can have a Pokémon eat an Empowerment Seed, and they will gain a status called Awakened. All Pokémon can become awakened, but only a small number of Pokémon will Mega Evolve as a result of eating the Empowerment Seed. It also seems that you will need to have finished the story for Empowerment Seeds to start dropping in dungeons.

An Awakened Pokémon will gain increased stats, their linked moves will always cause critical hits, and they will no longer suffer from type disadvantages.

Pokémon that Mega Evolve will change into a new form, often with a new set of moves, and will be far more powerful than their normal forms. This is only temporary and will last for just one floor.
