How to save your game in Genshin Impact

It's pretty easy.

Genshin Impact, the new action-RPG from miYoHo, is available across PC, PlayStation 4, Android, and iOS. No matter the platform, people are wondering how they actually save their game.

This is pretty easy, as Genshin Impact just has an auto-save function. You cannot technically save or load your game in Genshin Impact, as it is constantly creating an autosave file, stored on the game’s servers. Anytime you exit the game, then restart it, you will instantly be back in the location you left.

The only place you can manually save your game is in a dungeon or temple. You can use these save points to save yoru dungeon progress up to that point, as you cannot quit a dungeon and load back into it the way you can with other parts of the game.

Genshin Impact is effectively a live-service game, so it constantly updates your player information and stores it on the server. This won’t affect most players, who will simply be playing through the game and having fun, but if you are looking to take advantage of rerolling, it might get a little awkward for you.

The best way to use the game’s auto-save system is to simply stop playing outside of major encounters. The game has a vast open-world and some large cities, and there are lots to do. There are also plenty of quiet places you can simply log off and then log back on again, similar to how people who play many MMOs have to handle things.
