The wonder box is a mystery trade between two Pokémon trainers

Pokémon Home comes with a variety of different features to make it easy for you to transfer your Pokémon from almost any edition of the Pokémon games. You can connect it to your Pokémon BankPokémon Go, Pokémon Let’s Go Eevee or Let’s Go Pikachu, and Pokémon Sword and Shield. Not only can you transfer your Pokémon to this digital platform, but you can trade them with other trainers or friends to expand your Pokédex. On the trading section, you use a feature called, which is a little weird at first.

The wonder box only works through the Pokémon Home mobile application. You can download the mobile app for an iOS or Android smartphone device. The app is free to download, but you can purchase a premium subscription as an option. You do receive more wonder box options if you buy the premium subscription. You have three options to choose from.

  • One month: $2.99
  • Three months: $4.99
  • 12 months: $15.99

After you purchase the premium subscription, you should have access to all of the perks that are available for a premium Pokémon Home account.

Now, the wonder box is a new feature to Pokémon Home in the trading section. Free users have access to three wonder boxes, and premium users have access to 10 of them. You can place Pokémon from your Pokémon Home collection in an available wonder box slot and let them rest there. Eventually, another random trainer will receive that Pokémon and you receive a new Pokémon in its stead. It’s a random trade, so you probably don’t want to put anything close to your heart in any of these areas.

The Pokémon in the wonder box section can remain there for some time. You should still see them in your Pokémon Home collection until they go to another trainer. If you highlight them in your collection, they should have a red icon next to their indicating they are in the wonder box. You can always return any Pokémon you have in the wonder box by returning to the wonder box screen, clicking them, and taking them back into your Pokémon Home boxes.
