The best Swords in Genshin Impact – Swords Tier List

There are five different weapon types in Genshin Impact, with the standard Sword offering a solid middle ground of attack speed and damage. Swords will be used by Ayaka, Jean, Keqing, Qiqi, the Traveler, Bennet, Kaeya, and Xingqiu, so you will need to get to grips with the different build across those characters to figure out exactly which sword is best for them.

That said, there are some pretty clear winners if you just compare all the Swords to each other. You can find our current tier list for swords below, although this will be changed over time, either due to updates or discovering new techniques/builds with characters.

  • S+ – Aquila Favonia, Skyward Blade
  • S – Blackcliff Longsword, Prototype Rancour, The Alley Flash
  • A – Black Sword, Flute, Royal Long Sword, Lion’s Roar, Favonius Sword
  • B – Sacrificial Sword, Dark Iron Sword, Traveler Handy Sword, Iron Sting, Fillet Blade (strong on specific builds)
  • C – Cool Steel, Harbinger of Dawn, Skyrider Sword
  • D – Silver Sword, Dull Blade

Aquila Favonia

Can be obtained from Wishes.

  • 5 Star
  • ATK – 48
  • Boosts ATK stats
  • Passive – ATK is increased by 20% – 40%. Triggers on taking DMG: the soul of the Falcon of the West awakens, holding the banner of the resistance aloft, regenerating HP equal to 100% – 160% of ATK and dealing 200% – 320% of ATK as DMG to surrounding enemies. This effect can only occur once every 15s.

Skyward Blade

Can be obtained from Wishes.

  • 5 Star
  • ATK – 46
  • Boosts Energy recharge
  • Passive – Crit Rate increased by 4% to 8%. Gains Skypiercing Might upon using Elemental Burst: Increases Movement SPD by 10%, increases ATK SPD by 10%, and increases the DMG of Normal and Charged Attack hits by 20% to 40% for 12s.

Blackcliff Longsword

Can be obtained from Wishes.

  • 4 Star
  • ATK – 44
  • Increase physical damage
  • Passive – After defeating an enemy, ATK is increased by 12% – 14% for 30s. This effect has a maximum of 3 stacks, and the duration of each stack is independent of the others.

Prototype Rancour

Rewarded at Adventure Rank 10, and can be Forged at the Blacksmith.

  • 4 Star
  • ATK – 44
  • Provides a physical damage bonus
  • Passive – On a hit, Normal or Charged Attacks increase Base ATK and DEF by 4% – 8% for 6s. Max 4 stacks. Can only occur once every 0.3s.

The Alley Flash

Can be obtained from Wishes.

  • 4 Star
  • ATK – 44
  • Provides improved Crit Rate
  • Passive – Continuosly sprinting for at least 1s increases ATK by 28% for 6s. This effect cannot stack.
