March 2021 has arrived, and with it, the start of the Season of Legends is coming to Pokémon Go. The next three months will be full of events for players to have plenty of opportunities to capture new legendary Pokémon. The first three coming up are the Therian Formes of Landorus, Thundurus, and Tornadus. Giovanni is also returning each month of the season with a shadow Pokémon, giving trainers another go at Team Rocket’s leader. But the research breakthrough Pokémon for March is also an interesting choice. It will be Gible, a Dragon-type Pokémon.

You can start catching Gible on March 1, 2021, at 1 PM PT. If you want to turn in your final research task token to catch Snorlax, the previous month’s Research Breakthrough Pokémon, you have to do it before this time. Any completed research breakthroughs you make after January 1 will be a Gible encounter.

Snorlax is a Normal-type Pokémon. Gible is the first evolution of Garchomp, a Ground and Dragon-type Pokémon. It’s extremely powerful, and it’s a good catch for any Pokémon Go trainer. For PvP, it has a maximum CP of 3,962, an attack of 218, a defense of 164, and a stamina of 200. For PvE, it has an attack of 261, a defense of 193, and a stamina of 239. It’s one of the best Master League Pokémon you can use. It consistently tops the charts for most Pokémon Go trainers. By giving access to this Pokémon for everyone bodes well for any looking to get into the Master League. It’s also a good opportunity to earn more XL candy for it.

Garchomp will be available until April 1, 2021, at 1 PM PT. The month-long event should give you a maximum of four chances to encounter and capture it. Each successful research breakthrough capture also yields additional candies to make it stronger.
