The quest board in the cafe in Atelier Ryza 2: Lost Legends & the Secret Fairy is a great way to earn some extra SP and money as you play through the game. Each day, multiple quests will appear on the board that you can complete for certain rewards.
Many of these quests, like the Grandfather’s Kindness quest are simply fetch quests, but they can be a little akward at the start of the game if you don’t know where to go to get the items that you need. In Grandfather’s Kindness you need to bring him eight stone, but if you have tried to harvest stone you will realize that it is locked away behind a tool or mechanic. As this is one of the very first quests you can get, you may be wondering how to finish it quick.
The answer is to farm an item called Ancient Pillar. This is available from the very start of the game, and can be harvested very easily. You can find Ancient Pillar just by playing through the story. You will end up exploring an area in the Capital Outskirts called the Forest of Beginnings. Here you can find plenty of Ancient Pillar that you can break up using your weapon, then use it to finish up the quest and get your rewards.
You can find two locations with Ancient Pillar marked on the map above. If you wish, you can stay making your way to the first ruin, which is also found in the Forest of Beginnings as part of the story, and you will find lots of Ancient Pilla rin there.
Once you have enough pieces a message will appear on screen letting you know that you can hand in the quest. After that, return to the cafe and interact with the notice board to hand it in.
