AMD Ryzen 3000 chips recently launched, and people rushed to create their new gaming PCs. Destiny 2 players ran into a problem; however, as the game just wouldn’t run on the latest CPUs. The problem was quickly put down to being a bug, but Destiny 2 players have been waiting about three weeks or so for a solution to arrive. It looks like they now have an answer.

AMD_Robert, a member of AMD’s Technical Marketing team who is very active on Reddit, recently made a post about what they have been doing to solve the issue. They advised users that a workaround driver has been developed to solve the problem. The beta chipset driver can be downloaded and tested, and lots of users are giving positive reports.

Downloading the file will get you a zip file that contains the beta version of the chipset driver, which you can then install. According to Robert, “This is a beta chipset driver, and it may give you an installer warning or two if you’re upgrading an existing driver, but I believe this should work around the D2 launch issue.”

They seem to be on to a winner, as lots of people are reporting their the new driver has resolved the problem for them. As such, if you have been affected by the issue, then it would seem a solution is here. If you continue to have problems, be sure to jump into the Reddit thread and let AMD_Robert know.
