The newest raid coming to Destiny 2 is set to launch on June 4, the first day the latest season for the game releases for everyone who purchases the season pass
A brand new raid is coming to Destiny 2 is called the Crown of Sorrow, and it’s going to launch on the first day the game’s summer season drops on June 4.
Typically when a new raid is going to come out for Destiny 2, players have a few days to go through the new series of content to acquire the latest gear, weapons, and additional items they’re going to need to raise their overall light level. After a couple of days, Bungie releases the newest raid ensuring enough people have acquired enough gear to meet it head-on. This time around, Bungie is making it available within a few hours of the latest season, Season of Opulence.
For players interested in getting raid-ready to tackle the Crown of Sorrow, you’re going to need to raise your light level to 715.
Players are going to recognize the new raid as it’s going to take place in the same environment the game’s first raid happened, the Leviathan. To prevent Destiny 2 players from using any stashed away Ethereal Keys, Bungie is planning to turn off the Last Wish and Scourge of the Past Raids until someone beats the latest raid. After that, everything is going to open back up, and things should continue as normal.
Given Bungie’s master-level of experience in designing unique, out-of-the-box raids, the top Destiny 2 teams in the world may have their handsful for the first part of summer. Hopefully, they finish it up before E3 starts and they can enjoy the show.
Season of Opulence starts on June 4, and if you get to light level 715, you should gather up a team to try and tackle the Crown of Sorrow. The newest season is going to go on until August, with no announcements from Bungie on what to expect next from Destiny 2.
Here’s to hoping for a surprise announcement about Destiny 3.
