Genshin Impact is still in the middle of its Version 2.7 update, bringing in new characters like Kuki Shinobu and brand new events; however, there’re leaks well into the future of Version 3.0 and beyond. The latest leak reveals a new character coming to Genshin Impact, and he closely resembles a character named ‘Su’ found in HoYoverse’s sister game, Honkai Impact 3rd.
The famous Genshim Impact leaker Ubatch posted hints about this new character on June 21 — a partial image of Su’s early character art. Ubatcha stated that the character’s name will not be Su in Genshin Impact, despite sharing a similar design, and he will most likely not be playable in Version 3.0.
Ubatcha has now leaked the full image of this “Su-like” character. The blurry picture is difficult to see in great detail, but players can pick out most of the prominent information in this image, like his chest shows a glowing green Vision, likely a Dendro vision.
Genshin Impact data miners ‘SaveYourPrimos’ later confirmed that the image depicting the “Su Expy” is real. The image was not reshared “due to circumstances surrounding the leak,” which likely means this Su character will not be playable in Version 3.0.
This isn’t the first time Genshin Impact has taken inspiration from Honkai Impact 3rd for its character designs. Yae Miko was inspired by Yae Sakura, and Raiden Shogun closely resembles Raiden Mei from Genshin Impact. The naming conventions indicate that Su’s name won’t be too far off from his Honkai Impact counterpart.
Always take any leak with a grain of salt, especially one as early as this. Genshin Impact Version 3.0 is still a ways off, and it’s important to set your expectations reasonably.
